a few days ago i fell down a rabbit hole of myers-briggs type indicator (MBTI) quizzes. :ok: if you don't know, MBTI tells you which of 16 personalities you have, all have a four letter name (such as: INFP)
the first letter indicates whether you are an Introvert (I) or Extrovert (E) then sensitive or intuitive, feeling or thinking, judging or percieving.
there are various quizzes online which tell you which one you are! i took multiple, and got "INFP" on most of them. :cheesy:
what's your myers briggs type?? i want to see if people on here are also into this kind of thing.
-
Hey, Snap! I too am an INFP :cheesy: Well INFP-T because I guess I'm turbulent hehe
-
INFP here too! I've taken a few tests as well, and over the course of many many years my results have stayed consistent. I have always been INFP :dive: ...
-
INFP :o so many of us here!
-
ive taken several mbti tests over several years, so to be totally honest im not entirely sure what I am haha. the first ever time i took it (i think i was in like. elementary school, long time ago lol) i remember i was an infp. now, though, when it took it just a few minutes ago, i am now an INTP-T :omg: so yeah!
-
i usually alternate between getting ENFJ and INFJ -- think the binary between extrovert/introvert as defined by MTBI doesn't make the most sense for me, b/c i'm a shy person, but also i prefer to always be around friends if possible (like, i hate being alone). and then i alternate between J and P depending on how spontaneous i'm feeling.
there's another personality test, the enneagram (https://www.enneagraminstitute.com/) test, that I like a bit more (and the personality types aren't presented as purely positive!). there's also the big five (https://bigfive-test.com/) personality test, which is more nuanced. this site in particular also lets you compare your results directly with your friends, which is pretty fun! (and it doesn't stick you in a "type of person" as much, it moreso just measures different personality traits)
i remember i had to take an MTBI test as part of a job application once, which was so bizarre... these quizzes are fun, but often i feel that they just kinda show you, like, what mood you're in when you're taking it

i took the myers brigg test a few times in my life. it's been moderately interesting to watch the results evolve over the years. the way i interpret myers brigg it may be a proper interpretation of someone, but only the way they show themselves to others/to a quizz, and not the reasons why they are that way. it's probably more accurate for someone who's mentally healthy and in a stable situation, but the test might be a bit flawed for people who struggle with something. :transport:
that being said, i'm an intj-t this time ! :unite:
-
INFP the last time I took such a test. It seems this is not uncommon here lol
-
I've consistently been an INFJ for the past eight or-so years.
-
I cycle between INTP and INTJ depending on my mood, but I might as well tell you that I'm a Libra too. :)
-
My MBTI type is INFJ-T, been that way for a while now.
-
I'm an INTP. (To be honest the MBTI kinda feels like astrology for finance majors.)
-
For the longest time, I've been ISFJ, but I recently retook it and now I'm INFP-T?? Wow! I guess I have changed. :ozwomp:
(To be honest the MBTI kinda feels like astrology for finance majors.)
I sorta agree with this sentiment. haha. I think it's a fun little test, but I feel like I only use it to break the ice at company meetings.

Oh, the MBTI definitely feels like corporate astrology. But in fairness to Myers and Briggs, they were apparently trying to help women entering the industrial workforce during World War II and thought that the sort of psychometrics they were trying to develop would help women find the jobs best suited to them.

INTP here!
-
Iv done this test a few times and I always forget the results (prob INTP and INFP)! I took it today and got ENTP-A; but I was like 50-50 extraverted and introverted, so I feel like that could flip depending on the day
I think the older iv gotten the more E iv started leaning; I suspect by the time I'm 50 ill be the life of the party
-
I became the life of the funeral when I was 30.
-
For the sake of the topic: I'm INTP-A, but there are many issues regarding the MBTI test.
The MBTI's accuracy rests on "honest self-reporting". But the MBTI ignores our propensity to respond to surveys in a way that is socially acceptable or that will make us feel good. It only provides a partial portrait of human nature. For instance, it ignores characteristics like emotional stability, which is also known as neuroticism and has been demonstrated to be a predictor of depressive and anxiety disorders.
More valid personality tests would be: The Revised NEO Personality Inventory, The Sixteen Personality Factor Questionnaire and The Big Five. You'll usually end up with the same result despite MBTI where it can vary drastically.

hahaha for real!!! to me, they are on the same level theotaku.com quizzes (https://theotaku.com/quizzes). just silly and fun to speculate on with no real weight.
i used to consider myself INFP, but my friend who is more knowledgeable on MBTI has convinced me i am actually ISFJ instead. he tells me that INFP is a common mistype for ISFJ! unfortunately i can't explain why LOL he is the expert
-
I've taken the MBTI test multiple times from different places throughout the years and I have always gotten INFJ. I can identify with the characteristics usually associated with such a personality type...I care deeply about people and try to be friendly, but I am also very private and spend the majority of my time alone. I feel somewhat disconnected from society, so I continually work towards my ideals in isolation, but I genuinely try to serve everyone through them. The result I got on the Enneagram test was Type 5, which seems to complement the above.
...I wonder if the forum skews towards introverted types in general?
-
I've take the test a couple times, and every time I take it I flip between ENTP and INTP.
(We really all share the same brain-cell don't we..)
-
i'm an ISFJ!! the first letter isn't really about if you're an introvert in the sense of your comfort around groups of people, but more like how you take information. it decides what your top cognitive function is. : ) sakinorva is my favorite website for mbti info.
idk much abt enneagrams though!! i'm a 4w5 there!!
-
I'm probably the INFP person to ever exist tbh. What's even worse is that I'm a 4w5
Sometimes I get INFJ on certain quizzes, but I have a hard time believing that I am. It's the rarest personality and there seems to be a huge emphasis on being able to help or guide people. I've never really helped anyone before and I think I'd be giving myself too much credit by calling myself particularly unique.
