https://freesound.org/ is a classic and Iv used it since I was in school! (We actually had to make an account in school for a project!) - Then I use Audacity to edit them a bit and compress them for the web.
I also recommend carrying a lil portable recorder so you can capture your own unique sounds! I keep this one (https://www.ebay.ie/itm/385967329416?hash=item59dd721088:g:01UAAOSwFWJk2t~P&amdata=enc%3AAQAIAAAA4Mzmes9somGT1Bw%2Be808NMVRoCCkquKaVz7n5bCdI0GkTW9mkuCP4oL5qH01RBqtGmFPoPRLHp7gakG2cb%2BT%2FJZKDoPYr0UmylI12OPeLXcbbFAV0BAV1k3FhUvodnM8f85uGoiHYlh7pPdHBfOSwbwh7WobW18uMcUJllb7rICoL9XXECtchQ0bt%2F%2FOleiMYUlUX6BjMTxYiadSkp0qwzoAQvrNxK7NgVlTGEI%2FsG6Nlncsb3VDy3Kgcls8ZVYkCCO5Pn7DTgWgvGHDxKXS3iCA8UYLx99DbOPP5sb9s%2BH7%7Ctkp%3ABFBM9rSh7MVi) in my bag! But you could even use a phone!
Finalllyy If you have a program like GarageBand that includes lots of electronic sample instruments it can be really fun to make your own sound effects for buttons n stuff! :ha:

There's an open-source easy sound-effect maker at https://github.grumdrig.com/jsfxr/
SFXR/BFXR/JSFXR is a pretty old program that keeps getting revived online by people who enjoyed it. It's tried and true, if you don't mind its limitations.

https://rpg.hamsterrepublic.com/ohrrpgce/Where_can_I_find_sound_effects%3F
Ressource site for the OHRRPGCE game engine. I think you'll find some free sounds there. They are used in about 75% of all recent OHRRPGCE games. For the crazy experience, I suggest make your sounds by recording yourself doing noises with your mouth and tongue.

Here's some I know of:
Free Loops (https://free-loops.com/) - Mostly instrument samples
FreeSFX (https://www.freesfx.co.uk/) - 500,000 effects
Pixabay (https://pixabay.com/sound-effects/) - Much more than free images
SampleSwap (https://sampleswap.org/)
