Just as the title says, this thread is for cross-genre covers! Country covers of pop songs, banda covers of k-pop, reggae covers of punk, and everything in between! I love seeing these types of songs, I love seeing how a song can sound with a complete overhaul of the instrumentation. What are some of your favorites? Here's some of mine!
- A Cruel Angel's Thesis - Ángel Ortiz y su Mariachi (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NTXc525WI-o) (Pop Rock -> Mariachi)
- Bad Apple!! - ShouRinka (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dx76YPgZviE) (Chiptune -> Traditional Japanese Instruments)
- Schism - Nick Proch (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0vC1KTCgaME) (Prog Rock -> Orchestral)
- Heartaches - Jarkko Toivonen (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qw0sJv2WVO8) (Big Band -> Bossa Nova)
- Ruby Soho - Jimmy Cliff (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bKnQ0B40aow) (Punk Rock -> Reggae)

One of my favorite covers ever would probably have to be Dear Prudence by Siouxsie and the Banshees, which carries The Beatles over into gothic rock.
Also as someone who ADORES both Pink Floyd and Hozier, his cover of Time made my lose my mind when I first discovered it. Not sure if this is cheating since (PF and Hozier are both considered rock), but Hozier makes the song sound a bit more folkish to me.
