Title: Hellooooo!
Post by: faultychips on February 16, 2025 @987.23
Hello ! My name is Mikey, or Michael if you want to be more formal. Most people just call me Mikey though.

I've been making my own website (https://faultychips.neocities.org/) for a while now (I think mid 2022?) but I'm still adjusting it and learning new things about html and coding all the time (mostly because I'm really good at forgetting previous lessons.) I actually came across this forum when searching up how to make code work on neocities, and I thought it was a really nice place. I've been looking for a more relaxed social environment to interact with other people in, but social media has failed me for many obvious reasons. I'm hoping to talk more in forums like this and I'm happy to start my foray with Melonland :-]

I'll probably mostly talk about video games here though; I've been a big fan of Nintendo stuff since I was a kid but as an adult I've been making a concentrated effort to move more into the indie scene and appreciate the work that's being done there. I have a list of my favorite indies (https://backloggd.com/u/faultychips/list/indies-i-love/) if that interests you, or if you're into the nintendo homebrew scene like I am I made lists of 3DS  (https://backloggd.com/u/faultychips/list/3ds-titles-ranked/)and DS  (https://backloggd.com/u/faultychips/list/ds--dsi-titles-ranked/)games I've played as well as my thoughts on them.

I have a lurker heart but I want to push myself to be active in this space! Don't be afraid to reply to or message me if you notice we have similar interests; if it's about something I'm passionate about, I can talk your ear off allll day.

Heya Mikey! Welcome to the forum!
I've taken a look at your website and I really like your art!
And as someone who became fascinated with computers and how they work at a very young age and even took a programming course in school I want to tell you that we never stop learning this things, there is always something more or something we missed, my favorite way of learning HTML/CSS is to look at the source of websites that have cool things, and modern web browsers make it super easy!

I'm also mostly a lurker but making an effort to be more social so I hope you have a nice time here!
