Newgrounds (https://www.newgrounds.com/) is probably your best bet. You won't need Flash to play any of the newer games since they migrated to HTML5.

Or, if you want to go more retro, you can try Utopia (https://utopia-game.com/shared/). My friends and I used to play it in high school in the early '00s. It's a multiplayer kingdom management game that's mostly graphicless.

EDIT: I totally forgot about Quake Live (https://www.quakelive.com)! It's a revival of Quake 3 Arena playable in your browser (or on Steam if you prefer). I played a lot of instagib and freeze tag back in the day.

One of my long time favourites is A Short Trip, its about cats driving a tram: https://alexanderperrin.com.au/paper/shorttrip/
If you can run flash, Every Day the Same Dream was a classic we were shown in college: https://www.molleindustria.org/everydaythesamedream/everydaythesamedream.html

There's also my game from 2020, Ozwomp is Arriving - https://melonking.net/games/ozwomp/

Annnddd prob the best resource for new games is the HTML filter in itch.io - https://itch.i:ha:games/html5

There used to be so many! Minecraft and Runescape were browser games, I used to play an MMO called Crystal Saga, but that needs a download now too.. Im not sure of many large multiplayer ones atm, but there must be some! :ozwomp:

minesweeper is hell........ maybe you could check out fsh.zone (http://fsh.zone). it doesn't have that much stuff to do besides fishing and buying stuff, but it's cute and relaxing! i played a bit last summer and sometimes there would be other players fishing along with me.

Danball (https://dan-ball.jp/en/) has some decent browser games. My favorite is Powder Game 2, which is a

"realistic physic simulator" where you can mix multiple elements and see what happens.

I mainly play Fallen London (https://www.fallenlondon.com/) these days. The energy system makes my sessions short enough that I don't get exhausted when I'm done.
