i'm asking this cuz i've considered posting a survey on here that's for my sociology final research project. i've shared it within more personal circles, however responses have slowed down and i don't have a substantial amount of input yet. it's a little worrying as my established deadline for closing the form is slowly starting to come up. the thing is that the beginning of the form does contain my irl full name as well as the college i attend (as per research ethics regarding human subjects requires self-identification/affiliation)
i'll probably delete/lock this topic once i decide where to go from here. normally i'd be fine with this since i know it's purelyfor research purposes but atm i find myself having a couple reservations abt this and wanted to see what other people have done before i decide for myself :omg:

A couple of people shared personal information here, and I know of some people here who are easily identifiable via their linked websites or works - including myself. Sharing such information online always comes with a certain risk, but I decided that this is okay for me. The important thing is always to be aware that the account that you use can be linked to your RL - and when you draw the connection to an existing account, you should check if you really didn't post anything before that shouldn't be connected to it.

fair enough...! i was definitely wrangling with the idea of risk, though i suppose it's pretty much inevitable atp when it comes to sharing any kind of personal info. i'll think on this a bit more and look over potential connections of my pre existing work to double check. but thank you for your input!
