Seconding this; I'm in the middle of redesigning my index page so I'm definitely taking notes.
I’m glad it helped! I felt like I could have explained more in that post and I’ve been thinking of doing more in-depth tutorials/explaining more of my process. Maybe in winter break I'll get around to that. (〃 ̄ω ̄〃ゞ
I’ve been so caught up with school stuff that I forgot to announce; I am proud enough to share with you my page! ヾ(@^▽^@)ノ (you can check it out here)
You can find my blog/diary where I put my rambles and updates of the page, my art archive with all of the drawings I ever uploaded on the internet, alongside things like music and animation.
I’m so happy how it turned out(^▽^●)I learned a lot about html and even implemented Iframes to the page! Right now I’m busy with school and work so I won’t be able to update the blog as much as I wanted, but once I get some free time, I’ll try to keep things active.
I don’t know if I would call them better than the originals (the og songs are certified bops in their own right) but I do exclusively listen to them instead of the original songs.
Those being Amalee’s cover of Papermoon, honestly DJ-Jo’s instrumental of the song is amazing! VEC0gZvMVAI
And also Austin Weber’s cover of Mamma mia, I just love the vibe of this one. kewXtkGmDtw
Does Game of Thrones count? I mean I felt like Everyone watched GoT and was discussing the events and lore of the series every time there was an episode (or at least my social circle and family). But because at the time I only cared about cartoons and animation, I didn't watch it; and at the end I'm kinda glad that I didn't because of all the uproar about how bad the ending was tho I wouldn't actually know if it is bad.
When it comes to anime, the big ones I haven't seen are Gintama, Demon Slayer, Hunter x Hunter and Tokyo Ghoul (there are probably many more). Funny story about Tokyo Ghoul is that all of my friends watched and loved it when it came out and would talk about it; I didn't want to watch it so I just pretended that I did, literally would study the wiki and read the plot so I would be prepared when asked. Did I end up ironically enjoying it from reading it? Nope! I just kept the lie until the hype died down.
I was thinking about buying Jak II (after my sister traded the copy that we had many years ago) because it was truly my favorite game! First thing I did after school was turn on the ps2 and play it; I would play it over and over, I would do speedruns just to see how fast I could beat the game, I explored the city at the start of the game through hell and back! and for how much I played, it surprises me that I kinda don’t remember a lot of the plot (granted, it’s been a decade). The third game was just the same in terms of how obsessed I became, I remember you could unlock trucks and boi I want it all. I didn’t like cars but it was something to collect.
So what is The Game that you have played and replayed? that you have invested hours to collect every item, find every easter egg, unlock customizables, get every ending if it had multiple! and most importantly... That you enjoyed doing so!
My first picks would be Charmander or Mudkip because those are the starters I always pick when I replay fire red and emerald. But if I had to pick a pokemon to stay tiny for convenience, I would choose Eevee, I would not want them to evolve at all (of course, if pokemon was real and my eevee was actively evolving, I can't just press B in real life). also I don't think it would be my main partner, but I would love a Lapras in my party, they're just so cute!!
hey I’m also responding late to this cause I got extremely focus on building my site (^^ゞ but yeah I think I’m gonna do what melon suggested and build the gallery myself since I want that control over what is displayed and how it’s displayed. and as for Frugal’s thread, thank you! I was hesitant about image compression but I think you’re right, I look further into it(^▽^)
I don’t think artstation is what I’m looking for since I feel like it’s too professional:dunno: (like, I only know artstation as the “art portfolio” website, but I don’t really know much) and I want my art section to be like an archive of my old drawings from when I was a teenager, nothing too serious.
Since I want my website to be also an archive of my art and animations (and also my page design is very image based), I thought it would be better if I put my files (image, video and audio) in a host site and just link it in my html code.
what are your thoughts on this? anyone recommend a good one? so far I only know of Dropbox, but I wanted to know if there is more and/or better. I preferably want an option where I can imbed it into my site rather then take you out of it.
I checked out your page and it's amazing! (new design? I love the glow up!); your art is so good, really charming^ω^ also love the fact that you choose a language(゜◇゜)
Oh I would love to see videos about neocities, i like the video genre of people just talking of stuff they love (that's why I was drawn to Kat's channel :y).
and yeah I also do get what you mean maybe instead of girly anime I should rephrased it to anime geared towards a young femme audience? since I feel like anyone can be femme (and masc) no matter their identity. As someone who felt like I couldn't like "girly" things because of who I was, I wanna say that yeah, we all should do what we love without worry of others! I mean we all are here because we want to do our own thing on the web uwu
Haha thanks for the introspection! I guess that's gonna be a given in my site.
My interests consist of drawing, western cartoons and animation, indie retro inspired games, cutesy stuff in general, listening to all sorts of music, girly anime from the 80s-00s and most importantly, I love web design and html.
When I was younger I spent hours modifying my tumblr page and studying other peoples codes; but right now everyone is moving towards standardization and minimal customization , so you know I was more than happy to hear about the web revival.
I have a site! but as you can see its still under construction, but I’m working on it [; I found this website (and Neocities) thanks to You've Got Kat’s video about the indie web.
I’m actually not sure why I love web making, I mean I always adore the uniqueness of old blogs, of myspace, tumblr and youtube and if there is a customization option I will take it ; but coding is just something that I loved to do, just like drawing, it’s a thing I submerge myself into without a care in the world.
I hope to learn a lot from you guys and be a part of this community ^ω^
