I tend to get blinded by nostalgia so I was trying to think of recent years and 2019 has been one of my favorite in recent memory. Control (one of my all time favorites), Devil May Cry 5, Apex Legends, Death Stranding, Disco Elysium, and the Resident Evil 2 remake came out that year and all 6 of those have been some the games I've enjoyed the most over the past few years.
Typically any form of chai is my go to, but lately I've been drinking unsweetened green tea instead and loving it. I've noticed my hair has started to feel silkier after drinking it every day for a while too? Maybe that's my imagination though haha.
I also drink Liquid IV most days because my body needs a lot of extra water! The lemon flavors my favorite.
I've been taking the past year or so to go back and play some older games that I never got around to and right now that involves both Deadly Premonition games. About halfway through the playing the first one, I went and ordered the second one because I was enjoying it so much. I think they're objectively pretty bad games, but they have so much heart it's endeared me to them.
So far the second one feels a bit lacking compared to the first but I've only just started.
I'm really sorry to hear that, that's two pretty big things in one week.
Something that's been helping me a lot lately is to remember that the only way out, is through. That may sound bleak but I think allowing yourself to be upset when bad things happen is part of being happy again too.
On the short term, I like to abide by dear old Dale Cooper's advice of giving yourself a little gift everyday. Even if it's something as simple as sleeping in an extra 10 minutes, or buying yourself a smoothie or something, I think making a conscious choice to give yourself something brings joy.
I don't know that it's really a replacement for anything so much as fun software to use on the side but HEAVYPAINT is a neat program. It doesn't have any fine detail brushes (like the name suggests) so that you're meant to focus more on color and shape over line when you're using it. It's nice for planning paintings or doing plein air stuff. Nice bonus is that it's available on Windows, Mac and Linux and then there's app versions for iOS and Android.
I love seeing people's workspaces :omg:k: It's a very personal thing to share.
I realize this is more of a room pic than a desk picture but this is the only one I have where it's decently clean
I moved recently so had the opportunity to sort of reorganize my space but basically everything in my setup I've had for several years. The desk is an old drafting table, the shelf my tower sits on is a cheap one I got when I first moved out, etc.
3 monitors is kind of a lot but it's nice when I'm drawing. The one on the left is also connected to my PS4 so I can toggle between using it on that and my PC.
Need one more print to fill in that space on the bottom but I can't decide! The other unframed ones I have lying around don't fit.
It's funny you say this because I was just out today and saw a flyer for a site calledvivinavithat has a little bit of that. It's a Japanese site but has local pages for a lot of areas around the world that have things like local news and even classified ads like these. I haven't looked at it too much but I did glance through the classfieds for my area which was fun.
I've been struggling with similar myself so I totally feel your pain. It truly is an addiction and I know its not as simple as just stopping.
I think you're on the right track by using a blocker to limit your time. You say this is part of your job, so what about blocking out a certain time of day where you make your posts for your job? You said that youre only required to reply to messages ever 1-2 days so what if something like 11:00-11:30 AM is your post checking time? Think of it like clocking in and out of work.
You could also try going somewhere else when you do this to put yourself in a "work" mindset and sort of build a barrier between social media and your home. I have to do this sometimes when I take online classes because having my home also be my 24/7 workspace stresses me out.
Lastly I'd say be patient with yourself! I've been trying to quit social media as well but I know if I just stopped cold turkey it wouldn't last. Allowing yourself a little bit of time each day to do whatever and then slowly cut down on that time is more effective I think.
I love channels like this so much. I think some of my favorite content on the internet is just people sharing odd things they're passionate about.
One of my random favorite channels is this woman who does simple Adobe Illustrator tutorials. She has such a calming voice I sometimes just put her videos on when I'm studying or trying to fall asleep because her videos have almost a meditative quality in my opinion.
Fun fact, I live next to a graveyard! Do you believe in ghosts?
How lucky! I do actually! Up until a few months ago, I lived (literally) right next to a semi-famous haunted bridge. I've also listened to too much Coast to Coast to not believe that there isn't something that's left after we pass on.

Oh I can relate to that, for me it wasnt health; but its horrible to feel like you cant be who you want to be becouse of forces outside your control; and its great when you start to get a handle on things again; Im still getting there too!
I'm sorry you're going through that. It's true it's a really strange thing to be distant from yourself in that way, it's hard to put into words. Rooting for you on your journey though!
And thanks for the compliment of the site ^^ I'm still almost a complete beginner when it comes to HTML sites so I'm just messing around while I learn. I'm hoping in the future to cut down some of the image sizes and whatnot so it loads faster for people trying to access on older devices.
Welcome! I can't wait to see your website! I'm still in the planning phase for my next website project, but it's good to know we're all working on something, hah.
EDIT: Just saw your website! Reminds me of one of my friends who loves the dark and diabolical >:3
Thanks so much for the kind words! I also love the dark and diabolical
Good luck on your next website project as well! I hope you share it here when the time comes.
