I like the RE2 and 3 remakes well enough, but I do wish they were more like the RE1 remake. My general feeling of remakes is that, when done well, they make the original obsolete. That's exactly what the RE1 remake did, but the RE2 and 3 remakes are just too different to truly take the place of the originals. They're basically entirely new games with the same general story. If you want to play the original Resident Evil 2 but with modern graphics and polish, you still can't despite the remake being right there. You get a very different experience from each.
exactly! and i do love the re1 remake, sorry i didn't make that clear lol. and i wonder if re2 and 3 will get fan remakes like re1 has? that would give me some hope for a good reinvigoration of those titles.
i prefer wired/analog everything; i hate charging bluetooth devices especially when their battery life tanks, i hate changing batteries, and i hate how easy they are to lose track of! not to mention the security issues that come with bluetooth/wireless connectivity. it's a nightmare all around to me, and i'm prepared to die on this hill.
my most "current" gen console is a switch (that's a few years old now), and i don't see myself getting another console for at least a few years. i have a ps4, and since new games are still compatible with it, i don't see a real reason to get a ps5; not only have they proven difficult to get one's hands on, there aren't any exciting features that come near to convincing me to spend that much money. and frankly? i hate the design of the ps5 ugly and not even in a charming, personality-filled way
unfortunately it isn't wool, just plain acrylic; wool is Expensive (especially for 1000 yards of it like this took). thankfully it's still plenty warm, as the weather's just grown cold here!
sorry the pic is so low-res, i had to compress it reaaaaaaallllyyy hard.
ty for complimenting the color transitions but i'm afraid i can't take credit for them lol, it's variegated yarn. i'm a lazy knitter first and foremost :omg:k:
edit: if anyone wants the pattern, it's free and i can link it; or if you want the name and brand of the yarn i used, i can link that as well.
idk how controversial this is, but i'm not liking the resident evil remakes. they removed a lot of the clunkiness/actively hostile features that make the experience fun to me, and focused a lot more on action than horror; it just doesn't feel the same when i can, for example, sprint through the entire map without having to take the pauses the door animations mandate, and moreover i think that the pauses in pace it creates are necessary to immerse oneself in the horror, not to mention the beautiful (terrifying) moments when the "rules" of that are broken (i.e. zombies coming through the door at you, enemies breaking doors to get to you). the new games just feel so fast and... punchy (i guess?), but they don't make me afraid like the originals did.
i'm not able to yet because my gf is using my switch to play
she got a copy of violet, and it looks pretty cool, though i've never played a pokemon game before so i'm not sure what exactly is expected of it. i have noticed some graphical issues, and issues with framerates - not to be a snob, but sometimes it gets distracting/worries us that the game has frozen or is going to crash. i do agree, though, that it is neat to see pokemon just out and doing their thing, not to mention really immersive.
i've been reading compendiums of the works of poe and flannery o'connor; for the former, i wanted to revisit old favorites like "the masque of the red death" and "fall of the house of usher", and for the latter, i wanted to finally get around to reading works like "a good man is hard to find" and "yonder stands your orphan".
i love getting physical mail but am so frustrated that it's always spam or advertisements; i've been beefing up my penmanship and am trying to motivate myself to send my friends letters. i think i'd like to have messages from people i love that i can tangibly keep. not to mention the pressure to reply quickly is way lower because no matter how fast i write a response, it will be at least a day before they get it!
it seems so strange now that an email or text is so banal now when i compare it to the prospect of getting a paper letter; i remember being a child rabid with excitement waiting for my aim instant messenger notification to ping, and typing replies as fast as my small hands could manage.
I think you might enjoy death parade, perfect blue, paranoia agent or Junji Ito's work. More leaning towards the horror side with Ito but I still think it matches well into some of the themes of death, fear, corruption of man etc.
seconding the death parade recommendation, and would like to add death billiards (short it's based in the same universe as iirc)!
hi! always nice to see new faces. congratulations on graduating soon, and i'll be sure to keep an eye out for your neocities! if you like unique game experiences and pixel art, may i recommend Soul Void by Kadabura?
