Honestly, if I could "influence" people in any way, I would want to encourage them think for themselves and not base their life choices on what some random person on the internet is doing, popular or not.
That's what I dislike about influencer culture (at least my understanding of it). People look up to strangers they don't even know and let them determine what they want or think they need. This has been a thing long before the internet though, as celebrity endorsement and appeal to authority is something that has existed for ages.
I'm nobody's role model, and if someone chooses to see me as such then it's on them.
I like drawing characters and/or creatures in a cartoony style with lots of sharp edges and angles. I'll often do either either my own designs or stylized fanart of things I like.
I used to have a Sony Walkman MP3 player, I miss it quite a bit. It's somewhere at my mom's place now though. I might try to find another one if I can't get it back.
So much agreed. I never liked how big those things get and I've always preferred having a physical keyboard over touchscreen (those smudges. UGH.).
I'm actually considering getting a CAT s22 flip or something similar sometime soon. It's basically like a classic, durable flip phone with features of a smart phone!
It's probably going to sound weird but... I actually like feeling old in a way.
Like, I appreciate youth in the sense of physical health, but socially I've always preferred to be seen as older than younger. I like being thought of mature and wise rather than immature and foolish (even though to be fair, that's not always determined by age). I also like still being able to remember things from decades ago, I think it's pretty cool, and I like having had life experience. Maybe it could be to do with me growing up youngest in my family and felt like everyone looked down on me and saw everything I said and thought as worthless and insignificant. As a kid I wanted my childhood to be over and to this day I don't regret that feeling. I only wish I could have experienced some of those years as an adult instead of as a kid.
It seems everyone else around me feels the opposite, so I guess as it as something that no one else seems to relate to.
I love Hey Arnold! I don't "maintain" my fandom for it, so to speak, but I have been toying with the idea of going back and watching it, because apparently it still holds up. I still think of the box car racing episode every time someone says the word "mauve."
And speaking of old Nickelodeon cartoons, mine would probably be The Angry Beavers. It's also kind of a black sheep fandom, and was a very stupid show, but it still makes me laugh and I love it. I used to run a fan listing for it back in the day.
Same here, I love both shows! I've actually had the honor of meeting Richard Horvitz himself (voice of Dag) at a con a few years ago. He's like my idol in voice acting lol.
Yeah, I've had some bad online experiences too at that age, although I usually just excuse it from me having been a stupid kid back then and was a jerk myself at times. I'm just glad I've been able to grow out of it and move forward.
Toxicity can certainly be a thing on forums sometimes, although I think that's just the reality of the internet as a whole in any community big enough. You can't say it's any more toxic than modern social media spaces.
I really only use wireless/bluetooth for headphones (especially when I'm cleaning or doing something active; I can relate to Mambo with getting my wires caught in something and yanked out too many times!), game controllers (makes things easier for my desktop setup), and mice, though that's only because I happen to have some Logitech USB mice and probably wouldn't mind a wired one.
All that said, I really like Logitech's wireless peripherals. It's proprietary, but it uses a USB dongle that's as plug-and-play as any wired peripheral, and it's been amazing in my experience.
Totally agree! I have a Logitech F710 wireless controller and it's amazing.
I haven't really listened to the Japanese version, but I love the US soundtrack! It's definitely in my top three game soundtracks.
If you're a fan of energetic 90's euro-esque EDM (or something akin to Jet Set Radio) I'd definitely recommend checking it out! I think it's my personal favorite of the two region soundtracks, but I still love the US one too.
