I have a VERY old tumblr that predates my site! I didn't use it very much, but I did make a few posts apparently - I mainly used to go and look at pictures of forests in the mist https://loytopia.tumblr.com
I would totally join a imood wring! But I demand its widget be styled after the imood face
It should also show the mood of your site and the sites before and after you in the wring! That way you can visit the site, but you can also visit the imood profiles of any moodsters (is that what we are called?) - plus that means you can avoid going to sites if the webmaster is angry!
ok this is gonna seem weird but there was issue I had on logging on the forum. I would log on right password and anything, only to be logged off again?.
Althought the forum seems to be working again so.
Iv been doing a lot of server maintenance, so that might have caused an issue! - Also make sure you are on forum.melonland.net and not melonking.net!! Also also the login system uses cookies to recognise who you are, so if cookies are somehow disabled it will forget you!
Ooph; a few months ago I was in my grannies house which has a good big staircase - no one was around so I thought "yess! I will do a knee slide down this staircase!" .. I did it.. but I was laying on the floor in agony for about 5 mins after pulling at least three muscles
Hi there, welcome to the forum (ooph its hard to type my hands r cold from a walk)
Im defo a night person, Im half asleep allday and then at 1am suddenly im the most productive person in the universe
I did that test once but I think I was like an ITFMETEPFE..T? .. Maybe I don't remember.. but it started with an I !

If I had infinite money Id give everyone else infinite money and then we would all have infinite money... but then money would have no value.. so everyone would start using shoes as money.. soo maybe I should buy lots of shoes first?
Oh what the heck, Id start my own games studio and make bad games that no one would want to play, but we would sepnd so much money making them and it would be very fun
The forum E-Mail System is now functional! If you start reciving random emails from the forum let me know.. its never worked before so I have no idea what it might dooo!!!! (You can reset passwords, but it might also send you birthday greetings? I have no idea!)
I think you should totally use a domain if you want one! (Just be warned, buying domains is like a drug.. I have SO MANY)
Also remember you need to pay for Neocities Supporter if you do wanna use one; but don't be worried about it breaking links to your site, neocities will still forward old links to your new domain, so it will be fine!
Having your own domain can be really handy if you ever wanna leave neocities, because you can just point your domain to a new host and no one will notice the difference!
Midi, you're one of my favourite people on the forum and everything you post is charming, but omg do you never get your topics in the right category ~Moved to chat n games!
A good trick is to pertend your gonna start a cartwheel - get everyone gatherd around, hold your hands up and start - but then just run away - everyone will be so supprised they wont know what happend
Slowing down and writing more is definitely someone a lot of people struggle with these days; sometimes I cant even focus on something for more than a minute or two and thats really bad!
You should get that list of music genres printed on a t-shirt you get so many people asking questions I really enjoy archery too, the feeling of poise and control is calming.
I hope you enjoy your time here.

I have a coworker who is a really nice guy and I like working with him, but he's fresh out of college and it's obvious he's struggling to keep up and get his work done.
I have been in both of these roles Its really scary when you know you cant keep up, I even tried explain that I was struggling to other team members and they didn't understand at all. The best thing you can do is be there for emotional support; give them pointers when they get stuck, but don't actually unstick them - they need to learn to get over the fear of not knowing, and then figure it out without depending on easy answers. If you can casually ask "What are you working on? Any issues with it?" thats a great way for them to destress and get some pointers (just don't make it feel like you don't trust their work!)
Most of them are clearly bots that are being programmed to solve CAPTCHA puzzles
When this forum was first made I used a standard captcha and we got quite a bit of spam; then I switched over the the silly question it asks about what kind of animal is in the register icon; it works really well! Bots are great at figuring out things they understand, but if you do things even in a slightly unusual way they totally break!
Also those SEO emails, I think they might use our emails connected to the domain registration information? As far as I know everyone with a website gets them.
EDIT: I split this topic off from the E-mail Culture topics becouse I think its a really good discussion but I don't wanna derail the e-mail topic! Here is the e-mail topic that this was split from: https://forum.melonland.net/index.php?topic=717.msg6618#msg6618
The other thing is being careful how you put your email address on the site.
This is an interesting topic; we were drilled about this subject in web design class - "never ever ever put an e-mail on a website or you'll get spam", and that makes a lot of sense. However Id had exposed emails on sites for years now and Iv (almost) never gotten any spam..
I have a theory that spammers just don't actually crawl the web for emails anymore; they don't expect people to be posting un-obscured emails on personal sites anymore; or if they do, its just not worth their time to find them.. Its a bit like playing with fire, but at this moment in time I actually don't think putting an e-mail on a site is really an issue anymore (but its still a bad idea, don't do as I do!)
Thank you for stopping by, I enjoyed looking around your site; particularly the house renovation logs - having lived through a few of those Iv always found them interesting, and logging them is a great resource for anyone working on those houses in the future.
You're not the first person to drop by seeking webrings; people seem fascinated by them; I supposed there is no real equivalent to them, but peoples interest always surprises me!
Its great to see what a website can become after 23 years; was there a reason you kept it up instead of moving over to sites like Facebook? We had a good discussion about what happened to early web users recently, you might have some insight.
I hope you enjoy the forum, it can be a little cheesy at times, but there's always room for people with good things to say and a keyboard
