Interesting, its definitly not an issue with non-free code; the background changer literally just changes the url of the css background image. My guess is that its doing some sort of power optimisation and not updating the background because its behind a transparent layer - power optimisation often messes with my unconventional web design, the people making browsers just don't expect it Thanks for the report, I'll have a think about options!
On some browsers, previewing the texture as the background doesn't work.
Lemmy know what ones! I know on Safari it can be a bit ropy - but Id also say I tend to work on the 80% rule, if it works for 80% of people thats good enough for me
What will I do with my life next year, I moved home during the pandemic, but I cant stay here! How will I ever get my own life again and my own place when I don't want a job and just want to keep making websites and games
How will I get over the love of my life drifting away from me
Whats going to happen with this new Covid variant, will family Christmas happen this year? I'm supposed to travel to London in a few weeks, should I still do that?
How can I keep growing this forum! Id really like to see it become a great community! But I also wanna keep it safe from the big bad web.
Getting Ozwomp's Voyage finished and how I'm gonna release it, its a small game but perhaps a big milestone!
Website updates, Im always thinking of those, what do I wanna do with MK.Net (I wanna make the landing page more useful)
Where should I stick my Spacehey stickers!!?!?!
Where is my Playdate! Panic said shipping by end of 2021, now they say early 2022, will I EVER get it?!
Oh boy that was a year ago - I can answer my own questions now!
Oh you became an artist and won a few awards, but its still a question! You don't have stability but you do get your own place eventually
Ooph hard work, but you get there eventually.
Don't worry it all works out fine
It certainly grows, but its hard work, is it worth it?
You get it finished, its a nice milestone
Oh boy you do A LOT with that site during the year
Still haven't figured that one out
It shows up eventually
Questions for next year!
Should I get away from the web more, I feel like Iv overdone it
Will I stay indie, or go to a company? Im getting bored of working alone.
Will I still have all my hair when Im older!
How can I bring more people into my life in a positive way, Im sick of people disappearing.
Is what I do really good for anyone?
Were the last 4 years worth it?
Ooph, a bit heavy, but thats the mood! If last years results are anything to go by, I think everything will be fine
Oh I hope you do make your own virtual world! Id love to see more people doing it, but I understand the barrier to entry is really high! Your website has a great mood though, if you put that mood in a w0rld Id totally explore it
Hope you enjoy your time here!

Isn't the entire point of a zine to hand-copy them without a printing company involved? The reason people made zines is because they were poor and/or their topics were so radical/taboo nobody wanted to print them.
There a big distinction between a printing company and a publisher. A printing company is like a Xerox machine or a mimeograph - you might only do 100 copies, but there's still a cost involved (When I did my zine, I only did 10 copies and my printing company was a weird little shop run by an Indian man who laughed a lot, it cost me 8 euro!); a publisher is a WHOLE other story, and most zines are about not having a publisher as you say
There's front end JavaScript (the kind the runs in someones browser) and backend JavaScript (the kind that runs on your web server) - as others have said, I think frontend JS should be kept to a minimum unless its really necessary (for a game or extra functionality) but the site should be usable without it. So for example, my frame link fixer script will fix URLs in frames if you have JS turned on, but its setup in such a way that the site does not NEED it to be there - it just adds a lil extra.
As for backend JS though! I use SO MUCH JavaScript behind the scenes on a lot of my projects TextureTown is entirely generated using JS, the Newsletter, Surf Club, Worm, my Monday site closing, all depend on it!
I visit your site lots actualy! Im always jealous that I didn't pick that neocites domain, but I think you've done a better job with it than i could have
Im glad to see another Fleischer fan! It was fun looking through your japan photos, I recognise a few places!
The e-mail company are getting upset about my newsletter, but screw em!! I hope you enjoy the forum!

You can make models in any program you like - please send them in fbx or blender format! Also please keep your models EXTREMELY low poly, as low as possible! (Otherwise I'll have to compress your model and that might make it look weird) Please use solid colour textures! You can animate if you like! (Make sure it loops) (I will add basic animation to non animated models)
Thank you for your help (You'll be included in the credits if your model is used!)
Well, I give away most of the models on my website, and the engine is open source, so I guess it would be a bit silly say no you cant I would be curious to see what people make But please link back to me as the original creator!
I tried getting into gameboy modding a few years ago; it was really cool to learn about assembly and how you can make stuff happen by shifting bits of memory around, but thats about as far as I got - Id love to make a Pokémon rom hack though
I hope you enjoy your time here!

I had a look at your forum; apparently no one likes sport and someone has lost their posting privileges for 1 hour for using SLURS
