Whirled!! That was totally my zone in 2008 :grin: I had a house with a garden and the front room was a cafe with a maid bot who could take messages for me when I was away. And I spent AGES getting that skin that let you hover as this weird mystic guy but you had to finish on of the minigames to unlock it. Ahhhh.. it kinda sucked, but it was very cool back then :omg:k:

(Ummm I might have a nightcore engraved ipod:dunno:smile:

Back in the yonder days of 2012-2015 I was SUPER into Nightcore - For those of you who dont know; Nightcore was a dumb youtube trend where you sped up a song by 25% and uploaded it with an anime picture :tongue: ANYWAY; I am creating this thread for anyone who would like to remember nightcore and share their experiences!

I even had a few (unsuccessful) nightcore channels, so I thought Id share some my favourite uploads here!

Yep! Your desk is wherever you like to work, it does not actualy need to be a desk; it could be a sofa or a roof or a lawn or the sea if your a fish, but heck Iv never seen a fish on a laptop :ohdear:

Hi mcteague; welcome to the forum! :4u:

Ah yes thats a relatable story; I had a lot of bad experiences on forums when I was in my early teens; I was actually a bit uncomfortable starting this one because forums still had a toxic energy in my mind; but its been a year now since this one opened and its totally changed my feelings on forums into positive spaces! I know it wont be perfect for everyone, but I hope it can do the same for you and others!

Making a site can be a great expressive medium! Its like pulling life out of noise and connecting your inner self to technology to the wider world; I suppose to me it is a kind of meditation and spirituality; it certainly pulled me through some of the worst times in my life. Ultimately all these things are tools and dances, but what would life be without those!

☔︎ ∙ Help & Tutorials / Re: How do i make music play?
« on: November 11, 2022, 11:56:21 pm »
Code
 <audio autoplay loop>
 <source src="horse.mp3" type="audi:ha:mpeg">
</audio>

That should work for you, just link your mp3 file in the src; ALTHOUGH neocities wont let you upload mp3s without paying for supporter; so you’ll need to upload the mp3 to another host like https://ichi.city/

You can see more about the audio tag here: https://www.w3schools.com/TAGS/tag_audio.asp

Oh wow, congrats on getting your first gig, that’s a big deal! I enjoyed the promo vid!

Totally unrelated but is it true that Denver airport is the most evil place on earth? (I read an article 10 years ago that said it was..)

Anyway! I wish you the best of luck and a full house, and share some live recordings of your set when it’s happened :unite:

☞ ∙ Life on the Web / Re: Wireless/Bluetooth Everything
« on: November 11, 2022, 11:03:27 am »
For a keyboard, wired is definitely preferable because it’s not moving around lots.. for mice.. I’ve had big issues with wireless but it’s just so handy not having a wire dragging on stuff while your surf’n.

In the great headphone jack battle, I held off like I was at the Alamo, but I’m slowly giving in. I have two big wired headphones on my desk and they sound GREAT for music.. but for just listening to podcasts or YouTube, they are mostly unnecessary. I got a free pair of AirPods and it’s really amazing how you can just get up from your computer and walk to another room and still keep track of what’s happening in a video! And they switch between my phone and computer automatically depending whats playing audio, so you just kinda forget they’re there. I also got a pair of Sony noise cancelling doodads; they are a bit more of a pain to use, but noise cancelling on an airplane is life changing and I don’t think I could go back.

For bigger Bluetooth speakers, they are handy (omg the pain of crappy old stereo systems) but Iv noticed many have stopped having an AUX-in which is a huge pain because I need somewhere to plug in my Walkman! That said I still support people building a traditional old hi-fi stack if you have the space (now is a great time to buy used equipment from charity shops)

Oh and ummmm I have a Smart Mug that heats my coffeee/tea and sends me notifications when it’s the perfect temperature so there is also that :tongue: :tongue: (really though, tea that never gets cold is the closest thing to a utopian future we have!)

Also it’s not Bluetooth, but the public transport cards here have NFC; so you can scan them on a phone to check your balance or top up the card; I found that really cool!

Batteries are a big issue though and I wish there was a good easily replaceable lithium battery standard everything could use; I find it very disheartening that we have so much cool tech today that will be turned into waste in a few years just because the batteries have aged :sad:

Yep you’re fine; Neocities is just being a jerk because frameset is an older type of HTML, you can ignore it :4u:
