Hmm for some reason those are not loading for me? But It could be on my end becouse a few sites have stopped loading for me recently

Thanks for the offer! And I have considered connecting it into curated directories, that would definitely help ensure the sites on it are of a good quality. The fontend was great fun, but the backend was a pain; maybe I'll find a smarter way to do it, or someone whos really into backend programming who wants to tackle it, then I could get back to the frontend work which was really the bit I liked!

About 3 years ago I got supper pissed off at my phone company for some reason and decided to NEVER top up again.. And for the most part Iv topped up very little. The result is that my phone basically does not work when I'm not on wifi.. Whenever I leave the house I'm offline!

Sitting on the bus.. getting to a friends house.. not being able to call to tell my friend I'm outside.. shouting at my friends window.. having the neighbours lean out and start shouting at my friend too.. sitting there for 20 minutes and discovering my friend was not at home :omg:k: That's offline life and I have lived it!

It does create a novelty feeling to finally getting back on wifi and excitedly checking your email! No one ever emails me But I check anyway! Its nice to create moments of disconnection, it makes you appreciate being online more.

Yep old tech as a form of anti-corporate activism has been a thing.. pretty much forever; particularly in creative communities like arts and music! Its intresting that its started to spred into the tech world and other areas of life in the last few years tooo. Although that said, the whole cassette revival was really kicked off by The Guardians of the Galaxy :omg:k:

I like to aim for a balance; you don't need everything to be high spec 100% new all the time. My main TV is a 480p projector, but it has a Fire TV stick stuck in it; so its a mix of high tech and low tech thats perfect for me.

Related though, Iv been thinking about the artistic movement side of the web revival recently https://wiki.melonland.net/new_net_art and what kinda mediums can be related to the web revival. I think since digital life is so intertwined with regular life now its fair to say that ANYTHING can be part of the web revival, offline, online or a mix of both!

This is majestic! It's exactly what I was thinking with the mix of news and buttons and a search. Its also making me wonder how I can mess with the concept though.. Id like to add a sense of depth, or movement to it.. like making all the icons monsters in a field or something.. I dunno thanks for posting, this is a great reference!
