Hi worldenddomin8r (woah intense name!) Welcome to the forum, feel free to ask if you need any help!
Making your own space is always time well spent! Iv been thinking about social media recently too, its days are numbered, but there's gonna be a lot of drama as it goes down Sit back, have a tea and enjoy the show from the safety of these distant shores

Oo, I secretly wanna make an online fish tank game, its been on my mind for a while You right about social media sites, I think they are fine if you have a product to push; but personal sites are much better if you wanna step back and make something slower, more lasting and peaceful.
Cool art and games! I tried CHONDRIATIC but I sorta got stuck in the mirror.. anyway it has a vibe! I look forward to hearing more about your work! Whats your biggest inspiration?

My dad showed me Fantastic Planet when I was much younger (he's a major french film buff).. I don't remember much of it.. and I think I saw it in french with no subtitles.. but the visuals were captivating.
I just noticed this when I was trying to figure out why I was getting some erratic views, but Neocities is on Polygon right now and a few sites have been mentioned (Including me ). Oooph as a game designer even being mentioned there is super exciting! Anyway you might enjoy the article!
Ooo another RPG maker, what have you made? (Maybe I should make an rpg..)
Totally unrelated but if your old enough to remember cassette players, they had a switch called "metal" and I used to think you could only turn it on if you were listening to heavy metal
Anyway I look forward to seeing more of what you make!

Hmm banner tutorials; if you mean 88x31 badges/banners (the ones at the bottom of this site) any drawing/pixel art program you like works great, then I use this site to animate them! As for stylistic ideas, looking at other banners helps, but often just referencing your sites design and content is the best thing to do!

As a Mac gamer the situation is even worse There is wine for Mac but its not good, you can also get a paid version of wine called CrossOver, but its only really good for games that are 10+ years old.
For many years I used to Bootcamp (Install Windows on a partition on Mac) but it wasted so much harddrive space and was annoying to use. More recently I used Parallels to run Windows in a VM to play games, but again it only really worked for games that were a few years old.
Recently I got an Xbox series S and oh my gosh its so much better! Its cheaper than a graphics card, gamepass is a great deal for games, and everything just runs perfectly with no effort! You can even stop playing a game on xbox, then stream it on a laptop and pick up exactly where you left off, its amazing!
Ok ok I don't wanna write an xbox ad, and as an indie developer who cannot publish games to xbox (yet) its not good; but if all you wanna do is play games it really is incredible.
We might be entering a phase where consoles are the top dog in games again, until Linux and cross platform PC gaming really catches up
Hi, so Iv decided to move Internet Discussion to the archive (You can read it but cannot make new posts). WHY THO? Put simply, most of the posts there are about being unhappy with the internet today.. that's fine, most of the internet today is a pain and I'm unhappy with it too! However I want this forum to be about constructing something positive and new, not focusing on the bad of the world.
I want the forum to be about things that inspire and make people happy; I know that some of the discussions on there, such as metaverse, the web3, social media etc are SUPER important issues to discuss... I suppose though.. I don't really want to be the gatekeeper of those discussions, its not what brings me joy in life.
Anyway, we'll see how it goes, if everyones really annoyed at this we can restore it! It wont be deleted anytime soon as I think these discussions have important historical relevance tooo.
LibreOffice Iv used in the past, and its good if you have nothing else; but its slow and clunky and generally not nice to use (I do like that it has a retro drawing app though).
Ooo thanks for reminding me about Godot, Iv been meaning to give it a proper try!
The tablet was a great deal, I got it on ebay for 80 euro with no stylus. Then a family member gave me their spare stylus, but it was too old for my tablet, so I sold it and got the right one for the same price. Anyway all and all with some trading, I got a super professional tablet for 80 euro!
Oh I forgot to reply here, I was looking at these for ages! They are super impressive and capture the early 2000s perfectly! You could definitely do some really cool cut scenes for a game!
What do you use to make these and what do you hope to do with this style in the future? (If anything, making them for fun is fine too!)
Aha! So I took some time off away from web development this month, partly to repair an old bag that needed a lot of work, but also to revise my computer setup! My last big computer setups were in 2016 and 2019, so it was time for a revamp!
I put a LOT of effort into my setups (prob too much..), so I figured Id share it here, maybe there something I use that would help you, or maybe you have some suggestions for me! This is the result of a lifetime of using Mac OS, so I think its gonna be intense! Also Id love to hear about some of the setups you guys use!
