I'm sending this from my Chromebook which I installed Linux on within a year of getting it
Though I have a habit of getting old laptops from people and giving them a new life by installing Linux, I have three I've done that with now I want to say? I should try to do more with them but I'm honestly not sure what to do beyond maybe making a home server.
For my system when we were younger we used to remake our accounts all the time (in retrospect a part of that was because of being a system and constantly wanting to discard what was done before since we weren't enough aware of each other to compromise), but now because we tend to make so many accounts for things as a system we usually try to revive old accounts when possible. Preferably though if we can delete/archive/hide old posts and have a username change.
I hope it's alright to give this thread a bump, but I've started working on my own start page. I was wondering if anyone knows how I might be able to embed a simple RSS feed reader?
I completely understand Melon. I wasn't thinking of it so much as a replacement for a PC but that would make sense, but from what I gather according to my friend is it's a bit like a Linux PC so it can run anything that Linux can run (hence why you can emulate the Switch and 3DS). With that in mind there may not be as big of a problem of the restrictions of the smart phone and I wonder if people will be able to do things such as create mods using a SteamDeck.
I also get it with the ugly aesthetics but the upside to electronics is that nothing is stopping you from covering them in stickers, which is what I do. I know for the Switch and 3DS people would sell stickers you could use to completely cover it with a custom design so we'll likely see that for the SteamDeck.
My friend recently brought his newly bought one over and it seems very cool. It's like a gaming PC and isn't even limited to Steam games, apparently Switch, 3DS, and DS emulation is easy to do and can run smoothly. The only thing is I noticed the touch screen seems to be harder to control.
I've been looking at it since it came out since playing handheld is more fun to me than playing on PC but there isn't any way I'd be able to afford one. My friend was only able to get one because he got a work bonus for working during the hurricane (and the most my work got was a 30% discount for the month which doesn't change that I'm still poor).
I've been obsessed with Legion of Superheroes since I was a kid, and even though I've read the classic, 90s, and 2005 run, the only run I'd say I like is the 90s run which I'd really recommend. I also love X-Men but I haven't tried to read it yet because I'm not sure where to start. I'm kind of blanking right now on what else I've read but as a kid I read through a lot in my dad's collection
I've been meaning to check out the Duck comics for awhile now. My dad actually read those as a kid, but all of his copies he has are in Italian haha
This is extremely cool and I'm happy to see parts of the draconic community still around, I still haven't gotten around to publishing my personal site yet (and mine isn't focused on dragons haha) but I'm dragonhearted myself and my system has many dragons in it!
Ghost Trick is something I played recently but is now one of my favorite games but seems to be relatively unknown. It takes advantage of the DS mechanics really well, most of the puzzles felt good to solve, there's great characters, and the story is solid. It was made by the same creators of Ace Attorney but in my opinion is much better. After I finished I immediately went back to check out all the details I missed, the foreshadowing and how the mystery comes together is really incredible.
I was thinking to myself exactly ":grin:omg:es the Nintendo Switch count?", I only really get the current Nintendo console so I can keep up with Pokemon and because I generally love Nintendo games. I've never really had a console or any other system besides Nintendo since most other things can be played on PC, Pokemon is one of my special interests, and hacking a 3DS at least is simple. I might look into a PS4 once it becomes obsolete.
The Steam Deck is tempting for me because my PC is failing with modern games and I prefer playing games handheld, but I'd never be able to afford it so unless a used market for it enters the picture I probably won't get one. It would be nice since I already have a decently sized Steam library.
I live in Florida and here there's a festival each year where pirates kidnap the mayor in honor of a real world pirate who used to sail around Florida. Down here they sail in a whole pirate ship for it and other people with boats sail out to "defend" the city, and the pirates eventually surrender. I've never actually attended an event because it's a bit too far for me but it looks like fun!
I'm going to say Ghost Trick, which was a game that was also created by Capcom. I can't get too much into why because spoilers but it's a game that heavily involves themes of death and revenge and is overall fantastic storytelling.
