Can't get something from nothing. All ideas, at their base level, are just built off of other ideas.
For me, I would just feel happy that my work was meaningful enough to someone to inspire their own creative process

I kind of miss having a standalone, purposeful music-device. I feel like just using spotify and/or youtube playlists for your music kind of removes some of the charm in feeling like you 'control' your music.

I wish Steam had a better built in music player, would make the Steam Deck better for that  :loved:  :unite:

A classic for me! I really wish I got the chance to see Wax Fang in concert when they were performing. Their music is just amazing.

Most of the time when people "notice a Unity game", its usually in a derogatory way.

Nobody cares that Hearthstone is a Unity game. Hearthstone is just Hearthstone. :transport:

I have recently become a bit hooked to IQ; Intelligent Qube. The PS1 in general is filled with these sorts of weird hidden gems.

Also, hate to say this, but since the Gamecube's 20 years old technically those would count as 'old'. Super Mario Sunshine, Kirby Air Ride and most of the other gamecube big hitters still feel amazing (Notably point for Melee still having a huge competitive scene even today.)

I absolutely fell in love with it. For me, it was Tim Rodgers of Action Button Reviews's massive review - in combination with getting a Steam Deck - that encouraged me to finally try it out.

When I first played it on my W7 machine I could only play it at like.. 18fps at a resolution that would make Quake 2 blush.

  • Don't go into it expecting New Vegas. New Vegas is this cornerstone of RPG design - a one in a million sort of thing. Nothing will be able to compete with the memory you have of that game if you are a big RPG fan (I know how NV has sort of changed the entire western RPG genre retrospectively as people look back and see just how amazing that game was relative to the games that game after it.)
  • Don't go into it with the idea that you are making a character in this setting, you are playing V - its a lot closer to the Witcher then it is Ultima 4.
  • Don't go into it expecting GTA 6. The open world is genuinely super empty.

Besides those three notes? I adored my time in Night City. The story was just gripping for me!

Spore! I've absolutely loved Spore since I first played the creature creator demo, and I still go back to it occasionally from time to time. My favourite bit was always making creatures, and getting creative with their backgrounds and cultures. I think Spore is what started my love for worldbuilding and creature design, to be honest. I like the gameplay too. My favourite stages are creature, civilisation and space. It's just complex enough to keep me engaged (at least during tribal and above) while being simple enough that it doesn't feel daunting to start a new game.

Though despite having created a lot of save files over the years... I've never actually beaten it. I think the furthest I've ever gotten was about half-way to the centre of the galaxy. I'll beat Spore one day. One day....

Oooh, Spore! I missed that one. I think the closest I have gotten to beaten it was doing a run where I befriended the Grox back in the day.
Honestly somewhat eager to replay it, although I remember for some reason that the Space Stage could be extremely tedious - the game giving you constant little missions to bounce between your planets doing busy work.

Back in the day I had a mod to disable those, haven't been able to find it since though. Unsure if it was something that that DLC removed or not..

Glad to heard you have played it! :transport:
Its been amazing! Working on a team that large is really the sort of experience I need right now, really is great prep work for what working on a professional title will be like.

Higurashi, I haven't heard those words since I watched the anime back in 2008!
I really enjoyed it back then, was a nice little murder mystery show.

For me, being able to treat my Steam Deck as a "Gamecube Portable" is what I have wanted out of gaming for the last 20 years. I remember when the Gamecube Portable was just a hoax, now I essentially have it in my hands! Its wild. :ozwomp:

Are you using RetroArch or something similar? I only have a little bit of experience with modding systems to play classic games, so I don't know if I'd be willing to risk such an expensive device, but being able to take my GameCube library with me anywhere would be awesome.

I mostly use my PS Vita as a portable PSOne, but pretty much every game I wanted was available legitimately through the store so I had no need to mod it.

Using EmuDeck, which is pretty close to RetroArch! For me it made sense finanically since I really needed a computer upgrade for games, but didn't really want to put out like 1200 needed for a reasonable PC... :pc:
