I've heard about it before, and those screenshots make it look incredibly appealing to play (especially the one with Link). Do you have any levels or episodes to recommend?

(although it felt like there was less toxicity than MAL) Yeah, after downloading the MAL app to track the anime I've been watching, it sometimes sent me a notification to check out new episode discussions. Big mistake lol ![]() 124
♖ ∙ Games Cafe / Re: Favorite online game?« on: January 10, 2023, 12:37:34 pm »I youthed recently! I played Fortnight and almost won a match (it came down to a close combat shoot off between me and one other player)! Then I figured I would never top that and uninstalled it Good call, I got really into it when it was still the Hottest Thing Around and that's 500 hours I'll never get back lol These days I mostly play Team Fortress 2 as my "main" online game but I do rotate the games I play a lot: the games I play are often not games I've been playing for years before. I've definitely become more concious of games that don't value my time through the usage of dark patterns and the like, so that also influences the games I play. Fortnite was fun but it also made me feel bad after a match... which is the intended reaction. Not really what gaming is about! There's more multiplayer games I've enjoyed in the past but maybe I'll get back to those later ![]() 125

Haven't added music this month yet, but I've been repeating this one the most in December: 126
♖ ∙ Games Cafe / Re: Livestreaming platforms (e.g as an alternative to twitch)?« on: January 09, 2023, 03:02:19 pm »That's exactly what I'm getting at, Twitch may have its own share of problems, at least they have a moderation team that will ban the Really Bad People from the platform... who will in turn move towards alternatives with less moderation (or even a welcoming attitude towards these people). 127
♖ ∙ Games Cafe / Re: Pokemon Scarlet/Violet« on: January 09, 2023, 12:51:23 pm »Honestly I think the game isn't enjoyable even if you ignore the technical difficulties. That's completely fair. I especially agree on the whole open world being bland: the previous generations had much more interesting locales and routes with personality, but that has slowly faded away over the years. I especially noticed it with Sword and Shield, where basically none of the locations were interesting or unique in any way, shape or form, making the whole overworld just straight up bland. Also the cities themselves don't have much to do in other than going to shop, unless I'm missing something... 128
♖ ∙ Games Cafe / Re: Livestreaming platforms (e.g as an alternative to twitch)?« on: January 09, 2023, 10:29:32 am »I'd generally refrain from using proprietary, not even open source streaming platforms. They're going to spy on you, be unsafe, and probably host the kind of "creators" banned elsewhere for good reason. Yeah, those are my concerns as well, especially because platforms other than Twitch and YouTube are incredibly appealing to people who I really don't want to be associated with. 129
♖ ∙ Games Cafe / Re: Pokemon Scarlet/Violet« on: January 09, 2023, 10:22:06 am »I'm going to be frank that I was definitely one of the people who was turned off by the brokenness of it. It just seems way too much to justify the price. Honestly I've felt the Pokemon series has been going downhill for quite a few years now. There were still some fun bits of the last couple generations but the lack of quality control and bringing in DLC just feel like red flags to me. I was the same and had major doubts at the start of the game, but I started enjoying it not long after. That said, it's a very steep price for a game that you don't find appealing so it's not a bad idea to skip out on it if you feel like it. 131

♖ ∙ Games Cafe / Re: Livestreaming platforms (e.g as an alternative to twitch)?« on: January 09, 2023, 12:18:07 am »I am also looking for alternatives to Twitch, but while it's hard to move away from a platform that big in both users and features, it's not impossible... I've heard about OwnCast too, definitely considering dipping my toes into that sometime in the future. Especially interested in customization options that a self-hosted platform brings but I haven't really gotten that far yet. None of these are suggestions, as I've never used any of them, but I have heard of: Thanks for the list, I'll check these out as well! 133
♖ ∙ Games Cafe / Re: Pokemon Scarlet/Violet« on: January 08, 2023, 01:55:12 am »I got Scarlet a few weeks back, and I agree with the general consensus of "broken on a technical level but fun nonetheless". Within my first half hour of playing I already had numerous graphical glitches and even clipped through a door at some point, leaving me to hang out in the void. The gameplay is fun as usual though, and I like the system of three seperate story objectives. The world does feel a bit less "Pokemon" though: there's not as much stand-out locales like in the previous games, just generic locations with ugly repeating textures. Like I said, I'm having fun with it, but if people decide to skip the game or otherwise hold Negative Opinions about it, that's absolutely valid in my book. I just wish they had more time with it but that's never gonna happen when the most profitable IP in the world is built completely around the periodical release of a new videogame: if TPC would grow up and start introducing Pokémon in spin-off media like the anime and whatnot, maybe Game Freak can finally take the time to polish their games... (and maybe reintroduce the battle frontier please i beg of you) (Picture related: sig in the void) 134
