⛺︎ ∙ Cinema / Re: What's the last movie you watched and how did you like it?« on: November 20, 2022, 01:02:27 am »Watched The Terminal today, guy stuck in an airport, does things, pretty cool. Enjoyed it! Apart from that I don't have much to say about it, there's a reason why most of my reviews on Letterboxd have 4 stars and it's not my honed sense of media criticism lol 199

⛄︎ ∙ Forum Discussion / Re: Forum feature requests and Ideas« on: November 15, 2022, 12:41:45 am »Should we make the Writers Corner also include Manga? Is that an appropriate combination (since they are both books)? To me it makes more sense to combine anime and manga (it goes without saying that there's a huge overlap), but excluding Manga from the writers corner also seems wrong. Then again, spreading out manga discussion over two boards could get confusing... 202
☺︎ ∙ Chat & General Interests / Re: request for a link (Plushie Making tutorials?)« on: November 13, 2022, 07:23:16 pm »Refrained from posting because I have nothing useful to mention (yet), but I definitely found a cool site for this a while ago and forgot to save it anywhere. Still trying to look for it! 203
⛺︎ ∙ Cinema / Re: Do you like death note?« on: November 12, 2022, 12:05:26 pm »Can anyone give me recommendations of any shows that are like it? You might enjoy The Promised Neverland, which I thought was pretty similar in terms of characters Plotting, Planning and Otherwise Outsmarting Eachother at basically every single moment. I heard season 2 was incredibly bad though, I've only seen the first one. IMO it's perfectly fine to just stop watching after season 1 but that's up to you of course! 204
❤︎ ∙ Greetings and Introductions / Re: Fediverse / Mastodon thread - share your handle!« on: November 10, 2022, 03:38:15 pm »Alright thanks, I bit the bullet and decided to join the Yesterweb server as well which seems like a good point to jump into from this forum. ![]() My profile is https://sigmatic@social.yesterweb.org/web/@sigmatic and for people to follow I'll just keep close tabs on this thread ![]() 205
♖ ∙ Games Cafe / Re: What are you playing (or have finished)?« on: November 09, 2022, 10:57:06 am »I've been playing Deep Rock Galactic a lot, although I still have to buy it since the free weekend is now over lol It's refreshing to see a thriving game that doesn't make use of predatory monetization to keep players engaged, it's Just That Fun. (it's also very addicting...) rock and stone and such 206
❤︎ ∙ Greetings and Introductions / Re: Fediverse / Mastodon thread - share your handle!« on: November 07, 2022, 08:28:57 pm »I've look into the fediverse before, but I've never really gotten past making an account and browsing for like 5 minutes. Picking a server was pretty overwhelming to me (choice paralysis moment)! That said, I'm definitely down to dive in again ![]() Do you know what the best (or at least a good) way is to: 1) pick a good server and 2) find people who share the same interests? I assume there's decent overlap between those questions but they're still both holding me back from getting into it so I'm curious to know! 207
✁ ∙ Web Crafting / Re: What to do when programmer's block hits???« on: November 07, 2022, 06:45:17 pm »I have a really useful suggestion: take a break! Just let it be for now and come back to it later. I had the same thing with my site and got kind of tired working on it, but after I came back to it I found myself with both appreciation for what I had already done, and more ideas on how to proceed. 208
✁ ∙ Web Crafting / Re: What do you use to code websites?« on: November 07, 2022, 03:19:36 pm »notepad++ or bust baybee I mostly find the workspace overview handy to keep track of different pages/files and such. It's probably in other editors but Notepad++ is Nice And Easy with just enough features so there's no reason for me to switch to something else. 209
♖ ∙ Games Cafe / Re: Old games that actually hold up today« on: November 06, 2022, 02:29:36 pm »I might be a little bias because its my ALL TIME favourite game; but I think SSX Tricky holds up really well There is no week that goes by without me randomly starting to chant 'IT'S TRICKY TRICKY TRICKY TRICKY' I thought the original Half-Life still holds up really well when I played it a few years back. The game is visually pretty dated but I still think it looks appealing, especially in the atmosphere it creates. Besides, I never played it Back In The Day so at least I know my judgement isn't clouded by nostalgia! |
