☞ ∙ Life on the Web / Re: Discussion: Does having a website make you an influencer?« on: December 04, 2022, 08:57:19 pm »I have to agree with sig, when I used to post a lot on instagram (oh lord that account was cringey) I felt like if I didn't get likes then my post wasn't worth even making. On my website I couldn't care less, of course I do like when people enjoy my site but it's more like writing in a journal or just creating art like I used to in MSPaint. I love my website because it feels so much more natural. Not exactly completely related but I also can't stand modern social media for how much it revolves around sticking to trends, making money and keeping eyes. 258
☺︎ ∙ Chat & General Interests / Re: Unique Holiday Traditions« on: December 04, 2022, 08:51:49 pm »OMG MELON JUST REMINDED ME. Some other weird "traditions" that aren't exactly traditions. Me and my sibling would always go for a walk after opening presents (before the dinner) to go to a convenience store that was near us and open on holidays and we would always get more eggnog because by that point we had run out. My grandmother from my fathers side would always come over for a couple days before Christmas and stay a couple days after which we loved. Of course we had my father who drank baileys (a chocolate liquor) who used to sneak me some in my eggnog. Now that melon mentions it, I have been getting crafty presents from people for years and the older I get the more I enjoy those ones. I got this "Make your own crystals" set last year and idc if ti was for kids, that was so fun lol. I also agree that Christmas loses some of it's magic, but much like the old web, you can make your own magic and that is so fun in itself. ![]() 259

☺︎ ∙ Chat & General Interests / Re: Unique Holiday Traditions« on: December 04, 2022, 05:11:37 am »Yesss terry's chocolate oranges!! I love those things, tho icy squares are the holiday chocolate of choice in my family's household. We also do stockings first! Maybe that's also a Canadian thing lmaoGood to know I'm not the only one sitting in this Atlantic Canadian hellscape eating orange flavoured chocolate and whatever the hell the icy squares are meant to taste like (seriously it's just chocolate but there is this weird hint of something that I can't pin down) 261
☺︎ ∙ Chat & General Interests / Re: Unique Holiday Traditions« on: December 04, 2022, 04:01:12 am »I never thought I would read the words gay Jesus cake. Anyhooch my family always used to do this thing and idk if it was weird or not. Me and my sibling would always wake our parents up and then as they were having their coffees and trying to wake up we would always have our stockings before presents. I guess they wanted an excuse to wake up and have their coffee before we started tearing into gifts. Also I'm not sure if this is just a Canadian thing or not but we would always get a terry's chocolate orange in our stockings and I love those things to this day 262

✎ ∙ Making Games & Art Discussion / Learning 3D modelling« on: December 02, 2022, 02:45:11 am »What is a good beginner software for 3D modelling? I love the late 90's to early 2000's style 3D art and I would love to try making it but everything within 3D modelling seems so complicated. ![]() 267

Does anybody have any tips? Any good ways to stay motivated, on task and from procrastinating? Even writing this post is me just avoiding finishing my paper :omg:k: 268

⛺︎ ∙ Cinema / Re: Why do you watch YouTube?« on: December 01, 2022, 05:01:09 am »Other than the occasional background video while I knit, I love watching a few select youtubers because it makes me feel young again. The feeling I got from picking up the gaming edition of Guinness world records, the excitement of the few gaming centred shows on TV, the feeling of the scholastic book fair. The few youtubers I watch consistently bring me back to those feelings and I adore it 270
⛺︎ ∙ Cinema / Re: Movie that are more relevant today than ever« on: December 01, 2022, 04:57:24 am »Not a movie but I've been obsessed with Serial Experiments Lain recently and a lot of the topics hold up shockingly well today for coming out in the late 90's |
