I wasn't huge on The Menu either. I guess it's more of a satire than a horror movie? They try to build tension but it doesn't really work.

Last that I watched was The Talented Mr. Ripley which was really great. Very tense, effective thriller. It's also very beautiful visually which I guess contrasts with how awful a lot of the characters are... would definitely recommend.

Also one of my favorite books, the book version of Ripley is a bit more cold blooded then Matt Damon is in the film. He is great though, you kind of have to see what's going on inside his head to get him and that's a difficult part for an actor.

Also love Phillip Seymour Hoffman stealing every scene he's in

I mostly play the bass these days

I've never had great timing though. Can hit all the notes but it sounds off

I also have an acoustic guitar but I haven't played guitar seriously in a while

two songs come to mind right now!

love both of those songs

always thought Senses Working Overtime was kind of mixed weird. I don't know what it is but I still like the song.

People who are familiar with the Beatles were also shocked by that song. I think people had the impression that John was the weird one... Paul can be experimental too

this song used to really annoy me for some reason it is a great song though so I don't know why

just thinking about like how I need to do something interesting in the real world... I've been wanting to do a road trip for a while but I feel like I will chicken out. It'd be more of a summer thing anyway so I have time to think about it

I just love trolleys
they're so classy

I'm fairly anti-car would love to live somewhere that I don't need to own one at all

6
sometimes it just has to be sort of ambient

I really like Boards of Canada for web browsing

I watched Suspiria (1977) which is a really fun film, kind of dream like I guess? Really good music and aesthetic (the writing is kind of clunky but it seems like its supposed to be that way)

there's a newer version of it that I've heard is worth a watch

I watched Escape from New York for the first time, and I hate to be that guy but Escape from L.A. is way better. The story is cheesy and the special effects are terrible, but at least it isn't boring like N.Y.

The second movie was Days of Heaven (197:cool: which is a drama set in about 1915 midwest of the US. I watched it because my dad said it might be his favourite film. I can totally see why it warrants being a favourite film; its super captivating and has an intense mood and amazing narration. I highly recommend it :omg:

I love Days of Heaven it's such a beautiful film. Golden fields of wheat...
also really like Badlands by the same directo

that's hard because there are so many things I want to be good at... if I had to pick I guess cooking? I like making food for people but it's never as good as I want it to be.

would also be nice to do some sort of nonprofit work

there were plenty of interesting electives and clubs at my school I was just too burnt out to really get into anything

recently I was thinking it might be cool if schools did like a local history class... like focused on specific things that happened in the area. But I guess that could be a really boring class if you live in the middle of nowhere

also I think meditation would be good to teach in school also

the Montessori model sounds like something I would've liked, I think a balance between mandatory classes and independent learning would work really well

honestly I wish I got more out of school in general

early 3D animation has this really uncanny vibe to it that I like (Money for Nothing is another good MV)

not really fond of this Kraftwerk album though

sounds cool but I couldn't get it to work? it was just black and then an error came up

and I do like the Criterion Channel, second that recommendation

I still buy CDs because they're easier to put on in the car (and collecting is fun)
latest was the one Molchat Doma album with the weird motel

I've been trying to learn Spanish, but mostly for the literature. I don't think I could ever be confident speaking it.

Arabic script is really cool I would love to learn to write it

cooking is nice its one of the few hobbies I have where I can also listen to music or podcasts

unfortunately I am a screwup in the kitchen so food does not turn out how I want most of the time

my favorite dish to make is probably biryani or paella. Love a good rice dish
