this song perfectly encapsulated how I felt when I first heard it, some kind of wabi sabi-esque feeling that's for sure. It made me feel like I never felt before and I love sharing it!
One of my favorite songs of all time
I'm currently listening to Dana Katherine Scully by Tacocat
My OTP, I feel like I'm obligated to. I applied for the Anime Fanlistings website but man. I got an error like "you must have a URL that starts with http://" when I wrote https://. This tech seems very outdated.
Yeah it does seem very outdated. Most recent fanlistings let you apply without having a website
I tried using Last.Fm really seriously about a year ago - but I found it extremely stressful knowing anyone could just see what I was listening too! Like.. sometimes I wanna share my great taste is music.. but sometimes I wanna listen to The Princess and the Frog soundtrack on a loop for 3 days.. I don't want people knowing what Im doing without a filter
I suppose its kinda cool knowing what you listen too across multiple sites/platforms.. but I like.. already know what I listen too? In short, I found it stressful and couldn't really see much point to it.. but I'm curious to know what you lot get out of it?
Its a bit funny; people get so upset about not wanting to share ther data, but then they share all their music listening data randomly with last.fm :omg:k:
Haha! Sometimes I do feel the same way, but I try not to care too much about it, and it feels great!
Oh, I'm glad I wasn't the only one. Ever since customization has kind of been limited due to data protection regulations (no more autoplay, no more theming of the banner, no more external resources loaded without explicitly clicking a button) I already found it a bit boring, although I get why. But nowadays, looking through the new user list, it looks more like Facebook or Instagram than anything MySpace. Honestly, I miss when at the very beginning it was full of scene people, emos, general misfits; now it's full of the general public®.
So that's why there's no autoplay on my profile anymore... that sucks
https://spacehey.com/home It's kinda cool, I think there's been an influx of very young users though which has changed the site culture, idk melonland is my main site at the moment
Ruqqus Had a lot of potential, they pulled the plug circa 2021? because it was too political. I was fairly active in the apolitical stuff, owning a guild/board with 2k members
Steam>discussions>off topic! This is a nice corner of the internet where the tone of discussion is quite similar to here, although the content is, as you can imagine a little less internet-meta focused.
Have fun exploring <3
I agree about the young users on SpaceHey. It makes me uncomfortable sometimes, but hey, what can I do? And then I feel, oh maybe I'm too young for this crap
I love browsing the link page on someone's site (in fact, it's probably my #1 favorite section of a personal/fan site!) as well as on a forum. Other than that, if you have a link on your forum signature, chances are I would click it!
