I'm starting weekly events for my online community, but it doesn't have a name yet. We're getting together every week to play games, watch movies, put together puzzles, etc, I just don't know what I should call it!

☺︎ ∙ Chat & General Interests / Re: Do you like cooking?« on: February 20, 2023, 03:52:56 am »I love cooking Some resources you might find useful (especially if you like to learn WHY you do things in recipies): - America's Test Kitchen - Cook's Illustrated has amazing stuff, but the magazines can be a bit pricey - Serious Eats - Adam Ragusea or J. Kenji Lopez-Alt are great resources on Youtube - OsaraRecipies for some of those Italian cooks out there Plus, the guy in those videos is so charming. The only part I don't like about cooking is keeping the kitchen tidy after I cook But it's worth it! Especially since where I live, there aren't too many options that are worth your while for dinning out. I hear that's a problem across all of Rural America though.3

Sometimes I even hide the status bar, but then I lose track of time too easily! I would post an image, but I'm still so new to this, so I haven't learned how to do that yet lol. 4
☺︎ ∙ Chat & General Interests / Re: How do you like your pizza?« on: January 30, 2023, 05:15:28 pm »I love pizza form the US-East Coast, and just plain or pepperoni! The kind you gotta fold in half to eat properly. Unfortunately I haven't been to the east coast in some time, so the pizza I get here I usually order specialty. Out here in the west, it's just never done properly with just sauce and cheese in my opinon. There's always so much sauce! ![]() 5
❤︎ ∙ Greetings and Introductions / Re: hey peeps« on: January 30, 2023, 05:11:32 pm »Hey! I've been interested in installing linux on my pc for a while, but I've been putting it off due to having to back up my files and reformatting drives and all that. I'm pretty basic and I'd probably install Ubuntu, but I just love how it looks. It just feels right- like when you're on a health streak eating healthy foods. 6
❤︎ ∙ Greetings and Introductions / Re: hello!~« on: January 30, 2023, 05:09:27 pm »Howdy levya, I need to get some outdoor activities. I live near a state park, and I love going on walks among the birds and roaming wildlife in that area. It's a great way to get a perspective on things I often forget about. It's not so easy to feel that perspective in the freezing cold we've been having though! 7

☞ ∙ Life on the Web / Not able to get into anything« on: January 08, 2023, 05:59:40 pm »I've had this problem for a while where I load up a game, play for maybe 15 minutes or so, then I get bored and close out. I still feel like I want to play something, but nothing fills that void. And while I'm at work, I would think "man, I wish I was home to play some games" or something like "as soon as I have the time I'm gonna load up "x" game and play all night". But when I get home, I load up the game and then close it. Maybe I just need to give it a break, and resist the urge to play something for a while. Anyone else have a problem like this? 10

♖ ∙ Games Cafe / Re: Pokemon Scarlet/Violet« on: January 08, 2023, 08:20:14 am »I definitely want to play it, but I can't break my "beat two games before buying one" rule. The last game I bought was Switch Sports which is really fun. But yeah it's a bummer about the technical glitches and all that. 12

☺︎ ∙ Chat & General Interests / Re: Pieces of media that changed you?« on: January 06, 2023, 06:30:04 pm »I'm not sure if this is a weird one, but it's the answer that jumped up as soon as I read the question. It's an old podcast called Professor Blastoff with comedians Tig Notaro, David Huntsburger, and Kyle Dunnigan. The premise was that they knew only very surface level stuff about a bunch of topics and they brought on an "expert" guest every episode to talk about it. A lot of my sense of humor has been molded by their chemistry together. I've never laughed so hard listening to anything else. It's the kinda thing where you're trying to be quiet because you're listening in a public place, but then you just laugh and look dumb in front of everyone, but the joke was so good you didn't care. What really made this a "changing" experience, is one of the hosts had a bunch of bad happen to them all at once, but the way they dealt with grief was something I've never seen before. They broke up with their long term partner, was hospitalized with C. diff, her mom then passed away, then she was diagnosed with breast cancer, all within the span of a few months. She showed up when she could, but when she did she was still just as chipper and they still all had a great time together. It built a whole lotta perspective on dealing with trauma. Unfortunately the podcasting network they were a part of put it behind the paywall of stitcher premium. So if you have that subscription, you gotta listen to it. I've beene considering just paying the subscription to listen to it all over again like the old days. Here's an example of what the podcast would often derail into: 15
♖ ∙ Games Cafe / Re: What game would you want to be remastered?« on: January 05, 2023, 07:45:08 am »Mario Paint for sure, but for the nintendo ds (since we've gotta play make-believe). They really missed an opportunity there!
