I have an idea! I recently enhanced forum security and flagged all cookies as secure HTTPS cookies! I bet thats the issue - your windows 98 machine and the YW+ are both using proxies to downgrade the site to HTTP right? Thats breaking your cookies.

As a test I disabled this option - see if your login issue goes away and let me know
That seems to have fixed it. I never had to log in to YW+ this time.

As for Windows 98, I'm not actually using a proxy, the HTTPS site just works on Retrozilla out of the box.

Hmm thats strange - it doesn't sound like a cookie issue then; but nothing on the forum has changed in over a year that would effect logins. I havent had any issues myself, but if anyone else has please chime in!

Are you connecting to forum.melonking or forum.melonland? (or switching between them?) because melonking is long since unsupported and might cause issues. :ohdear:
Hmm, maybe Yesterweb Surf+ points to Melonking. I’m not sure if there’s any way to confirm. I’ll have a look tomorrow.

I'm mainly using Yesterweb Surf+, and it was keeping me logged in fine up until recently, and now I have to log in every time, and it's also started to give me an error when I do it, but let me through anyway.

I've also been using Retrozilla on Windows 98 to access the forum, and I have no settings to delete cookies on that, but it logs me out anyway.

Hey, I wasn't sure where to post this, but I've noticed this forum keeps logging me out on every browser and computer I use. It keeps me logged in as long as I'm on the site, but the moment I exit or close the browser, it logs me out.

I've tried this with multiple browsers, most of them don't have any settings set to delete cookies, and it does it with all of them.

Can I do anything to fix this or is this a server-side thing?

My favourite camera is the Canon Sure Shot 105 Zoom S. It's a film camera from the 90s. It handles all of the advancing and winding for you, and even automatically adjusts the shot to get the clearest photos possible. They always turn out great!

If I had to choose, probably DC.

Sega or Nintendo?

I love to make Saturn/PS1/N64 style 3D models. Extremely, low-poly with compressed textures. I also like to grab existing ones others have made and try and make their polycounts even lower.

I've participated in several retro game jams doing this, and I always enjoy it!

Wow, that artwork is actually pleasing to look at.

I guess the issue isn't the style itself, but the way corporations soullessly milk it for everything it's worth. I imagine if companies uniformly adopted another style, we'd all hate that, too.

I remember hating the Aero style when that was the corporate trend in the late 2000s, but now I think it has an appeal.

I like the changes, and I think the emojis are a nice touch! Really gives it more personality!

man, if the PSP had used minidisc/Hi-MD instead of UMD, that would've been the coolest thing ever! it's pretty neat how there's a ton of different types of media available on UMD, but i've never really been a big fan of the physical format itself sadly. the big gaping hole in the caddy (instead of a shutter like all other caddied(?) disc formats have) makes me nervous - my fingers are naturally drawn to it - plus, unlike minidisc, there was never a user-writable version made, so you couldn't burn your own movie discs or anything.
I think if they used a similar format to (Hi)MDs, and could play those, that would have done wonders for the homebrew scene as well. People would figure out how to boot from regular MDs like how people figured out how to load Dreamcast games from CD or PS2 games from burnt DVDs! That would have been so cool!

Sadly, we have to settle for games on a memory stick.

I am very huge into physical media, and I rarely, if ever, get something digitally or stream it. Whenever it's reasonably priced, I get everything physically. I have CDs, Records, Tapes, cartridges, a whole bunch of stuff!

I'm very into playing games, watching movies, and listening to music the way most people did back in the day, and experience the media authentically. I feel upset that many people don't feel the same way.

Like if I want to watch a movie from the 90s, I get a VHS or laserdisc, and watch them on a CRT.

On the other hand, I hate the scumbags who like to charge a fortune for old games and albums. I was just told about a PS2 game that sells for $800! Nobody who is willing to pay that much is actually going to play it. It's beanie babies all over again!

If something I enjoy is only available to stream, I record them onto VHS or cassette. I have a good few audio and video tapes full of Youtube and Spotify stuff!

There's something very satisfying about physical media, clicking, spinning, whirring and lots of wires.

This how I feel. You can't beat the sounds of a VCR pulling the cassette in and the actual tape out to play it, or hearing the Dreamcast loudly whirr to load games! Or even hearing a laserdisc player or old PC CD drive loudly rev up to load and play the media!
