❤︎ ∙ Greetings and Introductions / Re: hello whirrld« on: February 05, 2022, 02:45:35 am »luuuuuuuuu!!! it's nice to see you here :-3 your site is a nice place for me to get lost in and think you've done your part in making the internet more awesome but i totally get shifting priorities. a forum is nice because it's a much slower pace! 80
☆ ∙ Showcase & Links / Re: ✧゚・:cinni's oekaki board:・゚✧« on: February 05, 2022, 02:34:28 am »omg I remember oekaki boards from chicken smoothie's own oekaki boards, do you recommend starting a personal version of one of these? (i totally meant to respond to this way sooner, oops!) but yess! if you have access to dynamic hosting it's not as hard as i thought it would be to set up. it would be super fun to have an oekaki board just for yourself n friends! i took the extra step of adding in a login system to avoid spam since i wanted to make mine public, but otherwise the POTI-board template works out of the box. :-p btw youre the person i found this site from, which i found from mayaland, which i found from marijn, which i found from gemini, which i found from i dont remember woahh! that's a fun rabbithole haha. and thenkz i missed oekaki's a lot and was so excited when i finally figured out how to set one up! :omg:k: 81
♖ ∙ Games Cafe / Re: the era of rpgmaker games« on: February 05, 2022, 02:18:29 am »I don't think the era of RPGmaker games ever really ended! They definitely got a new lease on life through Steam. There's so many good modern ones. LISA is brilliant, and I've been meaning to check out Omori (waiting on the Switch port). I've never gave LISA a chance but I've certainly heard of it! same with omori! i remember when it started fundraising ages ago and kind of forgot about it BUT anyways it looks interesting! :-) Also, I never realized there was a ps1 version of RPGmaker! man I would've loved to see some of those games! 82

♖ ∙ Games Cafe / Re: The Palace« on: January 29, 2022, 01:35:16 am »ooooh the palace! like di, this was before my time but i heard about it when reading an article about the origin of Dollz. i also didn't realize it was decentralized :-o that's so cool that there are servers around, but di's experience with it seems to be the case for a lot of these old graphical chats that are still around. (i used to go on furcadia alllll the time as a kid, and now it's mostly AFK avatars lol. it makes Worlds seem more active in comparison). for those that went on it back in the day: any memorable stories? fav servers? 84
☔︎ ∙ Help & Tutorials / php heck: making a search engine« on: January 26, 2022, 10:55:10 am »im still a big n00b to php so i'm at the mercy of other's kindness to help me ![]() i'm working on a curated archive of early 00's pixel websites (cough cough https://archive.cinni.net/) and wanted to implement a search engine for images on the site. at first i was using this tutorial which works fine BUT it doesn't easily search multiple directories. the issue is i plan to have many, many folders and having a big chunk of code per folder seems very bloated. i tried to make the $directory variable an array (like one of the comments suggest) but i haven't had any luck getting that to work since i dont know enough php :< THEN a kind soul on the yesterweb discord provided me with the following code (that i sliiiiightly altered) which is able to search multiple directories but multiple word search terms like "hello kitty" would pull up every image with the term "hello" & "kitty" instead of filtering ONLY "hello kitty" in the file name. if you try it out yourself you'll notice it'll pull up each hello kitty gif twice. Code if... someone could point me in the right direction of how to solve this @_@ i would like the search engine to pull images from multiple directories AND be able to filter out maybe like, up to 3 search terms. this isn't *super* necessary and if i have a janky search engine then so be it, buuuut i am thanking you in advance for any insight ![]() 85
☔︎ ∙ Help & Tutorials / Re: GUIDE: How to fix links on a frame site! - MK Frame-Link System« on: January 26, 2022, 10:27:57 am »i was super excited to try this out, till i got to the disclaimer... LOL NOTE: If you use one of those fancy iframe sites (like cinni.net) this guide will not work for you directly, but it can be easily adapted to suit your site too! Ask in the comments if you need help with that and Ill figure it out. either way, i've been wanting to do something like this one day cuz that's the one thing i dont like about iframes :-O 86
☺︎ ∙ Chat & General Interests / Re: 🇪 🇲 🇴 🇯 🇮 🇸« on: January 26, 2022, 10:09:14 am »im a bit biased because i was a hardcore user of text emoticons like :-) or xD or T_T or even better kaomojis like (⌒▽⌒)☆! i definitely still prefer to use :-) over a smiley emoji, but that's because it conveys a totally different ~feeling~ yknow? i'm not against emojis and i really like them at times (i love some of the forum emojis like OR THE BEST ONE ), BUT the wrong set of emojis will turn me off :-( side note: i wish emojis could be more easily toggled off in some clients, cuz soo many times i type :-o and it turns into 😮 when i really meant ":-o"... >:-( 87
✁ ∙ Web Crafting / Re: What web host do you use?« on: January 26, 2022, 05:38:20 am »to no one's surprise i use neocities for all my sites, but more recently ive been playing around with my leprd.space server for things that only php can do :-p such as my oekaki board! n like cobradile i've used freewebz in the past & use yestercities for gemini! 88
