Slay the Spire 2 - any takers here?

So, tomorrow (for me at least) Slay the Spire 2 (StS2) releases in early access on Steam! I'm so excited; I love StS1 and am really pumped to discover all the new things the devs put in StS2. Plus, I'm super happy that my boy Defect is coming back!! It was a real downer for me when I saw that Defect wasn't on the roster initially, cause he's my favorite character to play so I'm happy he's back!!

Anyways, that's enough about me. Are there any other people here on the forums that play StS and are excited? Anyone who's never heard of it before? Let me know

I'm actually currently playing the first slay the spire. The deflect is also my favorite although I have not unlocked the forth character yet.

Yeah, really looking forward to it! The first one was a masterpiece and this sequel looks like it will be even better. Can't wait! 

There seem to be new characters in the roster, as well as multi character runs, that's all quite exciting. I wonder what happened lore wise... did we really manage to Slay the Spire in the first chapter? Is it back? Neow is some sort of minor deity of resurrection so... is she involved somehow? But why would she, as she was so eager to get revenge on the Spire in the first place... I wonder...

Oh my gosh yeah!! There's so much to discover and try in this new game; plus! I heard that they're really focusing on the lore in StS2, so maybe all our questions will be answered...

Okokok here we go... I'll make this very simple: the game is F U N.

The first run hits you with tons of nostalgia, you think like wait, this is a rehash of the first game? (somehow I wasn't even mad at all...). Then you start hitting the question marks on the map, surpass the first level, then the second and you actually start to see a lot of cool and fun stuff and new mechanics! You have card modifiers, both buffs and debuffs for example, or cute little companions that can follow you around and fight with you (all I will tell you is BIRB). I almost won my first run but damn it the boss is hard...

The unlock system runs through a "timeline" system that unlocks lore, so effectively you unlock stuff by revealing lore, which is pretty cool!

I have played just one run so far, and I'm already fairly impressed with what I see! Can't wait to play more of it!
