who else uses NomadSculpt for 3D?

hello cool ppl!!!

i've been peeking around at some of the 3D games/worlds/art that have been posted in this forum over the years.

i'm like... casually interested in using 3D modeling and sculpting as a creative medium; i've been fiddling around largely with NomadSculpt on my ipad (on recommendation from a friend who uses it to sculpt and print resin art dolls) - i find the sculpting process with the pen to be a lot more intuitive than most other 3D software i've tried.

i occasionally pick up blender now that i finally have a computer that can handle it, but like many beginners i am terrified of it. i took an intro class at my local library a couple years back and that helped a little, but.. i think i'm experiencing some kind of learning curve with 3D art because i have dyscalculia and numbers/geometry/high school-level math intimidate me.

idk, i would love to see stuff you've made in Nomad if you have any? any rly good tutorials you've found on creating characters and creatures? i was trying to create a prototype for a plushie the other day and i was struggling soooo bad with creating clothes.

maybe i'm also just not hunkering down enough with the actual learning process? if you're any flavour of neurodivergent/have any kinds of learning disabilities i would love to hear what's helped you pick up a workflow n stuff

I have nomadsculpt on my ipad. I use it every once and a while when I want to practice sculpting. I think it's great especially when Im on the go and can't do anything on my computer at the time. I haven't made too much with it though if im being completely honest. but I intend to do more in the future when my brain starts getting the itch to sculpt again. XD

I taught myself how to make low-poly models in Blender yeeeeears ago using a tutorial that I unfortunately can't find now. I have heard good things about Crashsune Academy's video series though! If I ever get back into it I'll probably refer to those :P I also have dyscalculia and...yeah I struggled a lot!! There was a lot of trial and error but luckily for me I had my brother around to help me with any math-related stuff.

I gotta get around to learning nomad sculpt!! I can feel my brain itching to try 3D again!!!

While, I don't really use NomadSculpt, nor have I heard of it. But as a more recent blender artist with ADHD I feel that I can still possibly add something of value to this. Developing a work flow that works can be rough, but I found what helped with getting a workflow for me at least is to just do. What I mean by this is that instead of focusing on creating something good, or decent just screw around in the program, and find out whats up. After a while I figure out how I want to model character, starting from the feet up. If I need to do something really specific like creating Toon shaded water I'll look it up I feel that even some of the best 3d artists look up stuff about how to do X thing

I have heard good things about Crashsune Academy's video series though!

I can attest to their Videoes. I only watched one video of their, and it was the UV unwrapping, and it helped a lot I thought UV unwrapping sucked, but their video helped out a lot, and UV unwrapping is now pretty fun in a weird way

Soooo this has been my special interest the past week, I found out about Nomad sculpt when doing research for work (lots of folks actually mentioned it in a survey) and I immediately went and started messing with it, on the demo on their website and was immediately enchanted and ended up downloading it about a week later on my iPad.

I haven't had much actual time to  dedicate to really learning yet but so far I've made a little monster guy and recreated one of the brooches from Sailor Moon. (For some reason it's not letting me post on mobile)

I want to try and create more and more things with it, I just don't necessarily have the time because of work. Which blows. But I plan to this summer.

I'm looking forward to trying this one (especially since I wanna make a chococat shrine)

I'm AuDHD and tbh the only thing that works for me is taking my medication and just taking my iPad with me everywhere. I have been experimenting with putting on different "modes" for my iPad.
