yesA lot of criticisms of the font come from using it in inappropriate places - funeral invoices, professional communication, and other environments where a casual font is not ideal. Its important to keep criticism in context - its not always every use of Comic Sans ever.

But for some people, it is every use of Comic Sans, ever! The letters don't match well with people's eyes! It looks ugly, it looks plain, it looks unpleasant and several graphic designers have written long blogs on why this might be.
The font is also a signal of the user being a n00b. Free to use casual fonts are extremely easy to find, download, and install. When used in settings (like professional communication) where you expect a modicum of graphic design to be in play, its jarring to see basic, n00b fonts.

uniquely accessible. Any sans-serif font works.
As with most things that are hated, there are some people who have 'redesigned' comic sans to improve on its perceived shortcomings. These are interesting. I use a redesigned comic sans (Comic Neue

If I may - at least Haters and Interest (even negative/critical interest) have meant more Lore and Trivia about Comic Sans has come out over the years. It's notoriety means its well discussed. Good luck getting this much lore for Curlz MT! You've gotta hate Comic Sans for the meme, at least. Do it for the meme.
