Commo's Song of the Day :O)

(1/7) > >>

Commodorn:
Melon's got a thread like this, so I'm hoping it's okay if I have my own since music is kind of a constant in my brain.

Anyway, here's the first one:

The Preachers - "Walkin' Thru' The Swamp" (1986)

https://youtube.com/watch?v=qA_ufkLUG3E

The amount of views (329) this got after 12 years probably tells you how obscure this one is.

For context, my dad built a little collection of albums from relatively unknown local bands when he lived in Miami and this was one of them. This seems to be the only online documentation of any song on that album, so I guess it's kind of on me to preserve them all as soon as I can... yikes.

(Edit: Nevermind. The same channel has recordings of all the rest of the songs. You'll have to scroll down through their videos if you want to hear those.. just keep in mind that I don't know what's in them. Could be weird considering what usually comes out of South Florida..   )

I thought about doing my own as well but I was a bit hesitant behind it since I didn’t know if it was okay or not  :TnT:

EDIT #1: Just realized we were referring to local south florida bands (which just so happens where i am  :drat: ) and i thought i should show you an really small local band i found from a record store  :ozwomp: ) i bought their LP vinyl and it is really beautiful, the guys are from michigan and only sold limited copies idk how it got to here

its called "roosevelt's inaugural parade" and i actually can barely find their songs online unfortunately, my favorite song is only on my vinyl :') truly the only way i can justify the need for vinyls since these bands legit aren't online,,

the LP is a collab between them and a band called "mainspring" i believe ..?
this came along with it but mine was pink its really beautiful, the art on the vinyl is also amazing. i'll have to take photos tomorrow and update this post.. after tedious searching i have seemed to find the two songs on the LP! WOO!

Mainspring - Open Letter with 34 views..?!

Roosevelt's Inaugural Parade - "Back to One" (my favorite  :ok:) with 58 views and someone talking about how their cassette tape was broken and they thought they would never see this song again in the light of day.. small bands are really interesting, from what i've seen online these were both hardcore emo bands , late-stage grunge basically

Woah, I love the sound of the guitar and drums at the beginning of that one. That's way cool...

Devo - "Love Without Anger" (1981)

Don't look up the music video if you don't want to see a human chicken.
