Tim Hunkin seems to be my new mini obsession of the week  He's an inventor, arcade machine builder and comic artist from the UK (you can explore his site here); in the early 90s he made a series of documentories about technology that are totally great and well worth a watch today!

There is a full playlist here - but Ill pick a few to link too!

The Secret Life Of The Photocopier

The Secret Life Of The Sewing Machine

The Secret Life Of The Refrigerator

Did you watch any; what ones did you enjoy and did you learn anything? Maybe we can write Tim a fan letter to let him know his work is loved!

That was a great series. The two I remember most were about fax and washing machines.

The fax one had a guy in one field stepping on a series of white squares. If he was on a square he'd raise a flag, the guy in other field would drop a white square when he saw the flag.

The ygot a load of washing machines from a scrap yard or somewhere. Nearly all of them worked with some simple repairs. At the end of the show they stacked them all in a pyramid and had them all going.

Found them:

Secret Life of the Fax Machine and Secret Life of the Washing Machine.
