I gotta say, I love all of these! Which honestly isn't a surprise, since I love the art you have on your website. I'm especially fond of the dappled effect you have in the tree dwellers picture, but they're all great!
No way I forgot to reply! That means a lot to me. The little tree dweller is very dear to my heart, and I was so happy with his little journey! I should update this thread, I think.
I have been working on improving my technique and strategy when approaching character design. It never felt right to me to use references. I believed that drawing surreal and weird creatures would fully rely on my own mind, but it was quite the foolish assumption! Regardless, practicing on generic puppets to understand anatomy and compostion felt wrong and dirty and everything but creative, so I am currently developing a little world!
It's called Helix Vacui, and it tries to tackle concepts that I think about a lot. It has been a real motivation in terms of writing and drawing, and I am soon releasing a little One-Page RPG sheet for it. My very first design is one that I feel very proud of. Here's my boy Svetlan!
The people in this world would try to find their purpose in life as it literally depends on it. How do people behave when your life is dictated by the concept of purpose? How is mental and physical ability affected by such a pre-determined task and what measures are taken to uphold everyone's lives? People would drag around their shells that represent this constant need to pursue their search for them to not become hollow. It's all very loose for an initial idea, but boy oh boy has it been carrying my motivation to create.
Also, here's a present I made for a friend of mine. She adores Alice: Madness Returns, so I drew her and her main interests, brains and baking, colliding with this game.
I also have been working on a couple of Blender projects, and I have been obsessed with geometry nodes. Here's a funky grass animation that I made for my website!
