What's your favorite animal?

BEARS. i love bears, theyre so big and round and friend shaped. i dont have anything weird or crazy to mention bout them, i just find them neat. snow leopards, kangaroos are also a favourite. and ofc how could i not mention the majestic anomalocaris, theyre weird little guys

But I like most cats. If I see a stray cat in my neighborhood I try to befriend it. Sometimes I even manage to pet them, and I help with a neighborhood trap/neuter/release program. Of course, my own cats are neuters and I don't let them have outdoor kitty adventures.

pigeons, of course! there are around 352 different species, including famous ones you know and love (rock doves, wood pigeons, dodos, mourning doves, etc) and also including the weird ones we don't know very much about! like the cameroon olive pigeon (looks like it's covered in stars!) or the polynesian imperial pigeon (helping to restore native forests by spreading seeds from the fruits they eat!)

there's literally so much to say about these guys I could go for hours. but i am tired so you are just getting this.

So many, many wonderful choices here! 

Cicadas are very special to me, though.  I love how they arrive on prime-numbered years.  Since moving away from the Middle-West, I miss their songs & the dancing fireflies.

My favorite animal? The cicadas, of course. Especially min-min and 17-year cicadas. They are cute and loud and won't shut up, just like yours truly

It is difficult to choose a single favorite animal!  I really like lepidopterans & vespids, but really any arthropod is super cute in my book.  They are like little chitinous mecha that usually morph into different forms with special abilities. Isopods (especially sphere-mode!) & horseshoe crabs are adorable.  I just wanna put little translucent hats on ghost shrimp. . .

I think Saturniidae moths are number one, with a second place tie between hummingbirds & snails.
