summertime... the sun is out. it's time for big sunhats and iced drinks in the lush green outdoors! it's time for a garden party!!!
something i've noticed while browsing neocities is that while a lot of people have
webgarden collections, it's not unusual to find people's gardens in need of some maintenance due to broken links, outdated pages, et cetera... so! let's have a garden party!
if you have a webgarden already: go check on your garden plots! prune dead links, update your own garden plot, and add new ones if you want to!
if you don't already have a webgarden: make one! i don't have one yet, but i've been meaning to make one, so... now i shall! both a collection and a page of my own.
if you have or want to make a webgarden that has nothing to do with missmoss's idea of 250x250 iframes, like the
everyone website garden or
digital gardens or any other type of web garden, or MULTIPLE kinds of webgarden, that's great too!
once you've done your gardening, link it here! and we can all gather around and chat about webgardens and give each other compliments, post links to inspiration and places to find web gardenrelated resources, et cetera!
some topic suggestions for chatting if you can't think of anything to say:
- how often do you update (or plan to update) your garden plot?
- how do you decide what plots to put on your page?
- are you going to have a section for dead plants or just delete them from the page?
- what are you trying to get across with your plot? is it decorative? informative? a snapshot of your website, an ad for your website, something unrelated to your website, or what?
- do you have a real-life garden?
- do you or do you plan to do anything different with the webgarden based on the season?
looking forward to getting started finally and seeing what other people make!
here's the melonland thread JUST for posting a link to your garden; pick up some new pots and drop off your own there, too, if you want to!
