the WORST clickbait ads ever.

(1/1)

bingus_baby:
Alright, so I have this weird nostalgia for awful clickbait banner ads because I saw so many as a kid, but I can't find many these days, at least not the kind I want... I already have some from Lowermybills, and Valley of The Geeks, but does anyone know where I can find some? Bonus points if the brand is irrelevant or defunct, because the goal is irony or parody, not to actually give them traffic lmao, and even more bonus points if it's 468x60, since that's the resolution of the ones I have, and keeping them a standardized resolution would be nice.

Also, parody ads work as well! My favorite right now is "Enlarge Your Orb!"

You can search gifcities.org, the project by the Internet Archive, for some keywords like "store" or "shop" and see what you can find.

Here are some I found off the top of my head by searching for "ad":

Another great search term is "banner".

Smart! I checked out Gifcities earlier, but I guess I used the wrong search terms, but yours work so much better, thanks!

The thing with Gifcities is that opposed to normal image searches, people don't optimize keywords for it (duh, it's an archive). All it can really filter is the context of the page itself, or the very sparse tags that it is sorted under.

Your best bet to find something, other than putting in the term you want (like "banner", therefore is putting in a term that you might find on a website containing what you seek.
For example, when I was looking for a pentagram gif, I didn't put in "pentagram", but I put in "satanic", because a website with a pentagram gif is much more likely to say "satanic" somewhere on it than the word "pentagram".

I'm still fond of this classic fail (unless they wanted us to bring on the secret sauce jokes... huhuhuhuhu.... hehehehehe.....)
