Hi all!

I thought this might be a fun topic to share - I have a proclivity for searching for old pictures of people's desks/computers. Something about the hunt, the sites that the search will bring me to, and the excitement of finding a perfectly preserved thread/account is so fun. Sites like Flickr serve as great digital crypts where I can find pictures from 20 years ago that only have 100 views.

While the entropy of the internet is a constant, with so many sites going down and files/images/videos being lost in the process, there are a ton of websites that are still online and fully readable, either thanks to self hosting or relying on stable hosts.

This brings me to my question: do any of you spend time digging through old forums/sites/etc. on any sort of regular basis? While this could be for specific things (i.e. fixes for issues) I'm referring more to just reading through/looking at things that have no current, tangible value.

yep, i'm into it. not only other people, but also my own stuff, especially old diaries or notes. if someone has big blog with old posts, i'm interested.
sometimes i search old neocities websites to check them.
i like KnowYourMeme website, because it's a like a web-culture time machine! or reading old creepypastas. or watching old videos if i like the channel.
so yeah. i guess i feel you.
