Where do you game?

i just bought a new chair for gaming because sitting on the floor by the TV was killing my back, and i got curious how people like to game!

Ever since I got a fulltime desk job I have been unable to really enjoy gaming at my desk. Now it's just me and my Switch (or other handhelds) on the couch. That way I can really unwind and 'turn off' work mode.

I really like handhelds much more than consoles so I usually game on my bed because it's extra cozy  I also have a desktop computer I play games on too.

On my desk when I am at the laptop for games that do better with a proper keyboard and mouse and/or aren't Steam Deck compatible. Otherwise, Couch and Bed. Usually Couch. I can stream the Deck's screen onto my TV via Steamlink app without latency.
I don't really play my PS4 and Switch much, but those are usually couch things too.

I LOVE to sit on the floor when I play on my Wii!! I have been digging Animal Crossing City Folk these days, and since the TV is in the living room, I always sit on the floor just in front of it, because the sofa is too far away to be able to see the screen properly. Floor time in general is pretty important to me on a daily basis either way, spending at least five minutes sitting or lying directly on the floor always helps me feel more grounded and connected to earth, regardless of whether I'm playing videogames or not :33

As I rearrange my entire setup I'm currently using my laptop on my couch (nightmare for FPS games but it works) and my CRT setup where I sit on my floor and play retro games (The floor adds to it)

Personally I can only really get comfortable for gaming on my PC. Consoles are ok for a bit, but after a while my ADHD takes over and I get annoyed that I can't 'tab out' to do something else for a while. I find I often switch between games unless I'm really into what I'm playing. Unfortunately my current chair is breaking down but I don't want to shell out for a new one yet

i usually game on my bed with my switch in handheld mode, and my laptop as well but that's more because i don't have room for a desk in my room

Where’s the “all of the above” option?

I do it all - I have a pc that I’ve Ship of Theseus’d since eighth grade at my desk, my girlfriend’s got her PS5 that we lug around between the living room and the bedroom, and the always-mobile Switch means I get to hang out and play games anywhere :3 (as an aside, you all are reminding me that I’ve gotta go buy a new chair too.. to office liquidators selling ergonomic chairs I go!)

If I gotta pick - nowadays its mostly in bed, but that’s mainly due to only having time for gaming during the evenings lol

Nothing like a little Skyrim in the backyard to go with your barbecue!… Well, I don’t know if I’d do that in 110*F weather like it is now… but the prospect of it’s there!

I'm usually on the floor, and if I'm playing FFXIV I'll do pushups or bodyweight squats while waiting for a Duty Finder queue to pop up.
