So, I have been using TV Tropes for a while now. If you do not know what TV Tropes is, it is a wiki about tropes for any media, as well as other stuff like heartwarming, nightmare fuel, and tesrjerking moments in media. I do not really edit on there as much, as i only edit it I notice a typo, but I use the forums and read some trope pages.

I used to browse it once every while about a decade ago, it was a good time-waster. Recently I randomly went back to one of the pages I read often and I saw a lot of things were missing. Most of the missing tropes were actually related to potential queer subtext. Dunno what the reason for that is, but I found it rather suspicious. :drat:

I used to be into it since it's a fun site to research tropes that often come up in various media including my favorites, buuuut then I got frustrated with how it just kept changing the image of some tropes with no particular reason.

Also... I recently wanted to stay away from this site because one of the trope images was, not only disturbing, but also kind of icky for those who know its source and those who have trypophobia. I think it was the one where a seemingly wholesome-looking media gets suprisingly darker and scarier as it goes on. If you know which one I'm talking about, then do NOT reply me with the link to said trope, instead let me know if you reported it to the forums if you have an account for it. (I still have my TvTropes account too, but I still don't feel like reporting it with how much it disturbs me.)

TV Tropes is a very fun timewaster, I've casually enjoyed it since I was around eleven. I remember feeling really vindicated by seeing the "Disney Death" trope pointed out since it always pissed me off since it was so frequently used in the kids movies I was watching at the time  :ok: Like "Oh so I'm not the only one who notices this sort of thing?" It appeals to my need to sort and categorize.

I still visit occasionally from time to time. It's just important to remember that pointing out tropes ≠ criticism and tropey ≠ bad, necessarily.

I've used TVTropes lot's of times. Usually as a multi-hour timewaster when I just couldn't handle being "present". I think it is so completely addicting to me because of the way in which it constantly connects what you're reading to almost all of the media you've consumed during your life. It gives me constant small hits of nostalgia, and allows me to fantasize about pieces of media I haven't consumed yet.

I wish it had more inclusions of deeper literary works, because the same tropes you can use to analyze Attack on Titan or the Harry Potter books could be easily adapted to more "highbrow" books.
