this is quite thrilling, posting on a forum like this for the first time ever! well, i guess im lucky i can make walls of text handily with my trusty keyboard. but for my first post, i guess i shall keep it short and sweet, so here i go:

hello, im a newcomer to this forum, and although i would usually lurk in places like these, always watching and never posting, today i think i might give socialising a try! (or at least virtual socialising) sorry if im not so wellread on forum etiquette, the only real forum ive ever used is r/anglish, a subforum (subreddit) on the big site of reddit.

im eager to learn more about this whole part of the web that was previously unknown to me, and would like to learn the craft of website making, so i could maybe have my own little spot on the worldwide web one day. (well, i already know a bit of html, but havent learnt a lot yet!!)

woops, i think i forgot to add some personal stuff about me so ill just blurt it all out quickly! uh... i like reading (stuff like wikis are great) and writing can be fun. i love all things weather, whether it be rain, snow, sun, or wind although i wish i got out more so i could appreciate the wonders of our earth's weather. other than that, i like anglish, which is a form of english that is spoken that uses more words of english root, instead of using the many loanwords which are found in our everyday speech. and lastly, my favorite thing to do, which is exploring the net! websurfing is a fun activity, going from link to link, and discovering dozens of cool websites, games, forums, and more across the whole internet!!!

and with that said and done, my post is over at last. i think it was short, (dunno about sweet) but anyways, 'tis the end so byeeee! (and i hope to see some people on the minecraft server, since i play that game too.)

Do you have a favourite wikipedia article? Sometimes when I look at my partners PC they have so many tabs open for Wikipedia  It's not something I can do personally (I always use the simple Wiki) but I can understand why it's appealing to others! And what sorts of things do you enjoy writing about? Is it more fictional or non-fiction (or something else entirely!) I love both creative writing and essay writing  !

thanks for the warm welcome, i didnt know forum welcome packs were a thing! as for my favorite wikipedia page, hmmm. it must be this one! i guess i like to write mostly on the computer, (so typing then) mostly just ideas that come to mind, like cool concepts for a short story or crappy drawing that i might make. i always like to make lore for any fiction work, worldbuilding and making fictional places and people is pretty fun!

Worldbuilding is such a neat (and difficult in my opinion!) skill to have, so I'm really in awe of your love for it. I enjoy it a lot too, but most of my ideas feel half-baked at best.
