Your favorite Vocaloid songs?

At this point in time, the Vocaloid community had gained so much mileage that there are many songs floating out there around the web which some will consider absolute classics, or defining pieces their early web experience. There are also many hidden gems that are nothing short of fantastic works of art that just moves your heart strings.

I find it really special that Hatsune Miku and her friends aren't just cute characters at face value, what they really are is the representation of countless creative individuals!

Which are your favorites? Which ones you keep coming back to?

My favourites are the old ones which are nostalgic to me I guess I am "bad" in the way that for many songs I prefer human covers of them Sorry if this ends up too long

Oh I was OBSESSED with watching vocaloid MVs as a kid. I think I was always more drawn in by the visuals then by the music, but I was always blown away by the creativity of the vocaloid fandom.

Aria is one I remember declaring as my favourite song when I was 12, though I think I just really loved the video.

Secret is one I think about from time to time and revisit. Luka was always my favourite

I really enjoy a lot of the more em:ha:rock/alternative-adjacent songs! I absolutely love Bad Girl Online, AND the PV slays.

in a similar vein to wodaro i think bacterial contamination isn't my favorite vocaloid song per se but it definitely is my favorite music video! i just love the imagery and calne ca's design

luka luka night fever is a classic!

and although sekai-chan to kafu-chan no otsukai gassoukyoku isn't technically a vocaloid song (it uses cevio voicebanks) it's a delight. in general i have a preference towards upbeat, silly songs :p

Omg, I actually do not know these songs. I'm probably gonna date myself here, but I remember early high school being obsessed with vocaloid with my friends. Like, we were big into the following songs:

Okay so, I was like so into Vocaloid that I cosplayed "Love is War" Miku to Megacon one year, and I also made my own live action music video to Matryoshka wearing my Miku wigs (I had the regular and the "Sakura" pink ones) for a school video project and the teacher displayed it in front of the whole class on the big projector. I was such a dork. I danced in it and everything, did the full filming, editing, and color-coded english subtitles all on my own. I made the video about like a girl with a dual-identity or like multiple personalities she can't reconcile, so she's going crazy. I still have the video hidden away, lol.

But I just have to say... I went on to do video stuff professionally and I have a very robust resume now. I wouldn't be where I am as an adult without those early video editing, filming, and fandom experiences! On some level in this Universe, Miku was a driving force behind why I'm able to afford my rent now.
