Heylo all! I've scoured for a solution to this all over and haven't been able to find hide or hair of this, so I figured this would be the next best place to ask since I notice a lot of folks here use Status Cafe!

Over the weekend I noticed that when trying to edit the code in my About Me section of the site, it was a garbled mess, and that was my first alarm bell that something was off. I almost dismissed it as my mobile browser being silly, but then I noticed a weird code at the end of all my code that seemed like an xss worm script. It was saying things along the lines of "javascript is shit, but don't delete it b/c it allows fun stuff like this to happen! Merry Christmas!"

I didn't understand what it was at first, so I just deleted it, re-did the format for my code, and kept it moving. The next day I noticed the same thing AGAIN: code was garbled, weird message at the end. I immediately became alarmed and went digging to see if others had this problem. Turns out, someone on the Status Cafe forums discovered it in 2023 and recommended using a NoScript extension to get around it until the site owner fixed it.

Fast forward 2 years later, and a few people are STILL having the same issue, myself included.

I'd been using SC for a while and hadn't noticed it until recently, and it makes me a bit uneasy at how long this had been an unaddressed issue on the site, just lurking in the background. I was nervous that I might've been hacked somehow and have been monitoring ever since because of it, even going as far as to completely scrub my SC page.

Mostly making this post to see if anyone else had encountered this? Thanks in advance for any responses! Wanted to open a dialogue about this so it could at least be SOMEWHERE just in case someone else notices like I did!

(TL:DR: Status Cafe has weird (potentially non-malicious??) javascript bug that freaked me out and may have been lurking in the background for some time. Found next to nothing on the Status Cafe forums and wanted to ask somewhere else to ensure I wasn't going crazy or over-worrying xD)
