people used to make fun of me for ranch on my pizza which is like a completely average thing to do buuut i have several things i do ppl have called "weird" (dunno if they actually are, especially not compared to your example no offense):
dip toast in coco wheats
put barbecue chips in sandwiches
chicken nuggets in salsa
onion pbj
hot sauce and mayonnaise on tuna straight from can
and the last one for **gourmet** pre packaged ramen:
no flavor pack, garlic powder, sesame seeds, soy sauce/braggs sauce or whatever idk (if you run out of one or the other)
again these are probably all completely sane things many have done long before my time but like u should try it or something
I have (and love) peanut butter and honey sandwiches (bread, butter, peanut butter, honey, bread in that order) which I got an online friend to try and they liked it too, i love the way the honey doesn't actually mix with the peanut butter but just sits on top
...also as an australian i feel like fairy bread is an obvious one, buttered bread with sprinkles on it which is absolutely incredible
Peanut butter in ramen. It is not gross, it's like how peanut oil is used as an ingredient in various noodle dishes. Some milk in the broth is good too.
When I was young, I loved crisps sandwiches. My sister would put tomato ketchup on hers, and I liked mine with pickled onions. Strange times.
Ice cream on pizza sounds strange, but I had ice cream ramen before. It's spicy, with creamy ice cream and peanut butter. I can see the appeal, but I'm not a fan of sweet things outside of snacks and desserts (except sweet sour pork).
I can understand how crackers and ramen can taste good together, I might give it a try one day, though I don't buy crackers a lot, I don't like the texture most of the time.
The only strange combination I have in mind is avocados and soy sauce. It would feel like eating sashimi!
I used to love croutons dipped in applesauce as a kid. Mostly because I lived in an "ingredient household" and didn't have snack foods XD I liked how the cold applesauce merged with the crunchiness of the croutons.
everyone irl is ready to kill me for this one
Rice. add some black sesame seeds. get a scallion in there. then. get this. Tiny bit of shredded cheese
it's a comfort food to me and a discomfort food to others
Cheesy rice?? With onions??? Who would think that's weird???? It sounds heavenly! Two of the best foods ever, rice and cheese, doesn't seem even remotely bad to me! People are so silly sometimes.
Mine is kind of a combination between peanuts and pickles...boiled peanuts with vinegar and crab boil spices. A favorite in the North American south, but also popular in Northern Mexico. Everyone I've introduced them too says they're too strong and too wierd, but I love them so much!
I've gotten weird looks for this but...french fries dipped in mayo. Maybe sprinkle a little garlic salt and sweet or smoked paprika (depending on your personal tastes)...it tastes sooo yummy.
I live in American and its not at all considered normal :/ ketchup is the go-to dipping sauce but I personally don't like it despite liking tomatoes.
I used to REGULARLY eat peanutbutter and cheese on toast, or I'd dip my grilled cheese in peanut butter..... everyone would always be so weirded out but like???? peanut cheese and meat on a platter is something that happens a lot [or like various nuts in general] so I never figured out why people think it's so weird. I also when hungover would sometimes put peanutbutter on room temp pizza. I almost never do these anymore though.
The weirdest thing I *still eat*, once again involves peanutbutter haha.. but I used to eat those like cubed hashbrowns [with the onions and peppers] and an over medium egg with spoonfuls of peanutbutter. Especially because of the egg I can get if people find it weird xD but yeah.
Also the LEAST weird things I like is pickles and salsa in my salads [I don't like dressing AT ALL not a single one, so it adds flavor and can help if a salad feels too dry], and chocolate with potato [mainly french fries dipped in chocolate shakes or chocolate on/with potato chips] I've had a lot of odd comments like "why would you do that?" but no one has ever been blatantly grossed out by it like the few above this have actively grossed people out haha.
