Expressions (A stationery store in The Philippines) or National (a bookstore in The Philippines) are my go to destinations at the mall.

They have a wide range of cute, cheap stationery. I like buying cute sticky notes, ballpens, and sometimes pad paper.

How about you?

I repurchase glue periodically.

For cute stationeries, does stickers count? I love going to artist markets and buy stickers, washi tape and notepads! I buy stationeries for work and personal pleasures (journaling).  :unite:

my autistic ass has extremely specific answers to almost every single separate type of stationery lol

- Notebooks: Maruman Spiral Note 5mm dot grid in B5.
- Pens: refill for Ohto GS01 ballpoint or Pilot Kakuno
- Pencils: Pentel .5 that I recently bent the nib of and need to replace; a random orange .7 body i've had for over a decade that i just refill; Staedtler 980 2mm. All refills are Pentel except the Staedtler, which is a special drafting size and the only lead sold near me is from a brand called Alvin.
- Erasers: Currently a random one I found in my childhood desk, but usually Pentel Hi-Polymers.
- Highlighters: Zebra Mildliners, one at a time, currently I have Cyan
- Planners: the Paperblanks hardcover horizontal mini 12-16month (i try to get the 12 month but they were sold out this past fall so this year I have the 16month). I've gotten them for 4 years in a row now, they work really well for me!
- Letter Paper: i get all my letter supplies from the thrift store. You can get some really cool stuff for really cheap -- one time I found a thrift store selling envelopes/cards clearly of handmade paper with rosepetals ingrained. I look for stuff like that when I can.
- Stickers: Mind Wave Seals. Hands down these are my favorite stickers. Please just look at them

Honorable mention: I use wax seals for all of my letters, and the initial stamp/handle/wax set I got was a gift from a family member's trip to Italy. I try my best to abide by wax code and I have a set of some standard gold/silver/bronze/red. Haven't needed to buy any more yet...
EDIT TO ADD forgot to add in my notepads! I get them when i can from liliuhms but if i can't then I try to get them from local vendors.

Man I used to be obsessed with stationeries when I was a kid, I loved watching staionery reviews on Youtube, and of course, buying them. And during my early art phase, I’m more keen on experimenting with new art supplies that I only use once or twice… Now I am more careful with my money.

For my school, I often bring these things: Three pens, a correction pen, correction tape, mechanical pencil, eraser, and highlighters (optional). I bring way more items back in primary school but that’s a story for another day.

I find myself really enjoying water-based pens, they feel way smoother than oil-based ones. I always get the Sarasa Clip 0.5mm pens, particularly the blue ones. I get the Plus Whiper Mr Correction Tape (pretty nice its refillable), but I don’t care about the brand for my correction pen.

I always prefer mechanical pencils over regular pencils since I don’t have to worry about the lead breaking all over my bag and sharpening it. I have been using a mechanical pencil (Pilot super grip i think) for years, it’s nothing fancy, but it works perfectly.
(Side rant: When I was in Japan, I bought a fancy mechanical pencil (Mono I think) that pushes the lead when shaken, pretty fancy. However, after a month of use, I dropped it and it broke immediately. While I am clumsy, I think the pencil isn’t that great if it breaks that easily.)

For my erasers, I always get Pilot foam erasers. Some people say there’s better erasers, but personally I got used to how it feels.

And for highlighters, I don’t have much preferences, especially that I dont need it as much after secondary school. If I do need them, I can always grab one in a random box.

When it comes to art stuff, nowadays I just use what is available at home. I have Ohuhu alcohol markers and some other color pencils. But after I switched to digital, I don’t need to spend as much money on art supllies.

My favorite store is Stylo.ca at the mall near my childhood home!! I always end up leaving with a pen or five when I visit. Usually Im not super picky, and will pick up whatever feels good or is purple. They also have a lot of really nice notebooks! Leuchtturm is the obvious choice, I also like Midori
But!
I will be using this thread to complain about MY FAVORITE PEN GETTING DISCONTINUED
Basics® Nylon Fine Tip Markers 43014-03 YOU WERE PERFECT AND IVE TRIED ORDERING YOU FROM LIKE 3 DIFF. WEBSITES AND NONE WILL TAKE MY MONEY. I only have one of them and its nearly out of ink. I've been on the lookout for YEARS now and have YET to find a pen that has that same kind of nylon tip. I don't want felt that'll smush, I want Strong, Resilient Nylon!! Why is noone else doing this?? Why is there only one brand?? And why cant I purchase it!? They come in a 12 pack how do I only have one?????

I'll never stop looking for you my holy grail.

If you actually want a list of my daily drivers, here they are

PENCILS
  • Paper Mate ComfortMate Ultra (0.5) (sleek, comfy, reliable)
  • Serve Deep (0.7)  (thick, bold, has extra eraser space.
Open from the middle to refill lead. Clip prone to falling off)
  • Staedtler Mars Technico Lead Holder (2mm) (I use H2 lead in it)
ERASERS
  • Staedtler PVC free (theyre softer)
  • Factis BM2 (one of those eraser holders with an eraser SO THIN!)
PENS
  • Cross Gel Rolling Ball (fancy, but doesn't layer well, even
over just graphite. Plus, smudges so easily)
  • Schneider One Change Rollerball (BIG and JUICY)
HOBBY KNIFE
  • Richard S-12 (inherited from grandpa)

Colored pencils: Prismacolor (velvety smooth)  Highlighter: Merange (they're available for free at the office)  Ruler: UNIQUE! (Custom purple circuit board my sister designed as merch)

Pens: Pilot Explorer, Pilot Desk fountain pens with stock ink, various free ballpoints I've acquired over the years
Pencils: whatever I can find, I'm not picky
Hobby Knife: The stack of Uline box cutters I got from my warehouse job
Paper: Cognitive Surplus planner, dot grid notebook, and an unbranded journal

I want to branch out, especially in terms of paper/notebooks, but there's no reason for me to do that until I fill what I have. I'll probably continue using the Cognitive Surplus planners even when I fill it since I'm used to it, but I'm interested in all of the planners that get shared on this site. I can't tell if I would benefit from a more structured system vs my daily notes setup now.

I've posted in the fountain pen thread about why I prefer them. I will also get a Kakuno and potentially a dip pen, but that's not until I have a habit of using my pens enough to switch to ink bottles+adapters rather than the Pilot cartridges.
