Dev logs are a pretty new thing. While the idea of telling people how your game is progressing in development isn't new. It pretty much only been recently popularized by YouTuber Dani 5-6 years ago.

I was curious one day and I searched on Youtube for "devlogs" before the year 2010. The videos I found are really hilarious because they're made using windows movie maker and has nu metal/rock blasting in the background. They're less devlogs more showcases/ a portfoilio of the creator's game.
There's some doom/quake maps sprinkled in also.

It's honestly incredible these people made these games because there weren't many (or if any) game engines on the market so many of these games were made from scratch.

If there's anymore that you know of let me know.

Oh man, these rule. The ever-so-iconic Window's Movie Maker, Comic Sans, and that particular brand of humor from back in the day. I really admire the passion put into these old games.
