For me, it's game is game" and "if there's a hole there's a goal."

It also pisses me off when ppl in tiktok comment sections say shit like "wish I looked like you" or "*sighs and scrolls*", "oh to look like you" "what's it like to be beautiful?" AND ESPECIALLY WHEN THEY SAY SHIT LIKE "can u block my bf pls" or when a guy in the comments says some shit like "wish my gf looked like you"

But I'm interested in what other people say... especially is yours is something commonly said like "well done!" or something idk

Actually yes, I really don't like when people say "keep it up" ~ I feel like; "Don't tell me what to do! If I wanna quit Im gonna quit and its none of your business, and who are you anyway to think you're opinion matters so much that I should keep something up just because youuu said so"  :innocent: "Keep it up" is not encouraging, its an unintentional put down disguised as a complement and its bothersome; a better option is to say something directly personal like "i think this is cool" or "im happy to see this".

Another one that reaalllyyy bothers me is people flipping "good" and "well"; e.g. saying "im doing good" instead of "im doing well". Are you really doing "good"??? are you saving puppies or paying peoples heating bills?? No?? I didnt thinks so!! In that case you're not doing "good", you are doing "well"  :drat: ~ I think the best option here is to not say either and use a more direct descriptor like "I'm alive"; everyone can relate to that! (except vampires)  :skull:

well, its more because of association but i get really frustrated at "you know what i mean" because my brother has been saying that at me for no reason for years and expects a response and it drives me crazy

Lol, I am super guilty of this, and I feel like it's kind of an American thing in general. We use "good" all the time as a complete descriptor. It kind of also reminds me of the Latin American habit of answering the phone with "¡Beuno!" which I always thought was funny.

My least favorite phrase is "Well, anything's possible!" Often used by people who do not understand the difference between "statistically likely" and "statistically possible." Too many folks use this stupid phrase to justify playing the lottery every day.

More specific recent one: I despise it when slim people call themselves big backed for like, eating and enjoying having food. It's just super rude toward fat people, like it comes across as "Haha I have this trait i view as bad because I do this normal human thing. Haha. lol." Come onnn man

I agree. Sometimes these things can sound really back-handed as well just make me even more unmotivated.

I don't normally get pissed off by small things like that, but I really, really don't like the saying "you don't anyone anything".

I mean, sometimes it's justified, but most of the time it's used as an excuse for other people to act selfish and inconsiderate towards the people around them. In reality, we owe so much to so many people. I fucking hate hyperindividualism.

"I could care less" - Honestly this one's just annoying bc it's incorrect. Like, it means literally the opposite of what some people use it to mean. More people are using the correct "I couldn't care less" though, so maybe it's starting to go extinct.

"Idle hands are the devil's workshop" - Had an uncle who used this to justify me doing chores while visiting their house(???) which is probably where mmes from LOL but like just let people do fuck all, guys :ozwomp:

"Just let people enjoy things" - Blame tumblr for this one. I was predisposed to dislike this phrase because I am a natural born hater but after seeing one too many people use it to justify watching propaganda film slop like the new Top Gun or like, buying Apple products, its kind of lost any sincerity the phrase may have had at some point. Now you'll see it used to like, gallantly defend drinking radioactive sludge from a crazy straw and well if you think that's stupid then well you're just being mean.

One thing i see said towards artists of any kind which annoys me a lot personally is "i wish i was as good as you" or "i wish i had those skills". i had a friend who said this to our artist friends a lot and all it does is annoy the artist or make them feel guilty for being good at something they worked hard for. If you wish you were as skilled as someone in art then pick up a pen/instrument/computer/whatever and get good. Don't make others feel guilty for working hard.

I agree but I also admit im pretty hypocritical in this one, self esteem issues and the such.

Oh boy, I have a LOT... most stemming from my poor work environment

"Assuming makes an ass out of you and I"... which unfortunately sounds hypocritical when the very people who say that assume you're lazy if you don't do what they tell you.

"You've done this hundreds of times!" OK, just because I've done things well before doesn't mean I'll do that same thing perfectly! Besides this, I've gotten "you only did it recently!" or something along those lines. Look, my mind isn't 100% perfect!

"How do you eat an elephant? You take it one bite at a time." Yeah, but what about taking those bites? What if you're not hungry?

"Stop being so depressed". Oh boy, I hate this one a lot. That phrase trivializes what's an actual, serious medical condition
