Hello melonland netizens!! I'm AVQ (he/him) a visual artist who works mainly in Blender, and overall CS-person!

I've been interested in the web-revival movement for the longest time, and have always been critical of web 2.0 centralization, and especially the "infinite growth at all costs", "move fast and break things" mindset that is rotting these platforms out from under themselves. On the internet, I default to being a big time lurker, so since early November (I live in America), I wanted to start putting my beliefs into practice, and put myself out into the world more! As part of this, I started working on my website as a portfolio / link place / yapping zone, which has been tons of fun, and a great anti-doomscrolling project!

As far as hobbies go, other than Blender stuff, I'm big into music and manga! I'm a fan of all sorts of genres, and some of my favorite artists right now are Jeff Rosenstock, Mid-Air Thief, King Gizzard, Femtanyl and Louie Zong. For manga some of my favs are Dungeon Meshi, Houseki no Kuni, DanDaDan, Chainsaw Man, and Jojo's! I also love some anime such as Sonny Boy, Tatami Galaxy, Kaiba, OddTaxi, and a bunch of others that I'm forgetting! I'd love to check out any recommendations!

I'm excited to start using this forum more, as I've bounced off of a ton of Discord chatrooms, and I think the slower pace of a forum will suit me a lot better. I'm looking forward to seeing everyone around! 🌟

Welcome, AVQ! Your site looks lush - the big gummy buttons remind me of mac shareware games from the 00s  (this is a compliment I promise). I also enjoyed the tatami galaxy and oddtaxi! Your gallery page looks great - I might need to check out the Universal Post Maker because I'm currently pretty dissatisfied with how my own gallery looks, the sorting features are great

Hi villain! Thank you! I've always loved those chunky Mac icons, I appreciate it! I definitely recommend the Universal Post Maker too, it took a little bit to familiarize myself with how it's set up, but it seems super versatile, I'm very happy with it so far.

Nice to meet you too! The star guy is a little character I threw together in Blender specifically to use as a profile picture! I'd love to do some more with him at some point though!

Very happy to see that you're moving forward from lurking, it's always neat to meet new people ! "DanDaDan" is funny, I don't know why but I feel a similar vibe with this anime than the "the melancholy of haruhi suzumiya" anime. Can't say why exactly but I really enjoy both of them at the same level due to this feeling.

Only manga I read is "Goblin Slayer" but it's quite particular, I like the "D&D campaign gone weird" and "anti-harem" takes on the topic. My favorite character is the Dragon Shaman.
