Food?

Food is something that's integral to human survival, and us as a creative species we managed to find a way to make it into an art form in a sense. Hell even the most basic of things from simple ingrediants can make one's mouth water.

So this brings up a question I wanna know: What's your guy's favourite food? It can be a local dish from your region, something you make when you crave it or even a comfort food that doesn't need much effort to cook.

I'll start off with mine.

• Mac and Cheese, any kind. From the box, microwaveable, au gratin, however it goes, I'll eat it. I think adding hot dog slices or ham bits to it makes it better. I have a fond memory of going to a bbq smokehouse for dinner one time and I ordered their mac and cheese, someday I wanna go back there and get it again as a treat.
• My area is a hotpot of many cultures so they tend to blend, but there's a food truck that sells Indian inspired burgers and fries. My fave burger is their "Akashic Burger" which is a burger with tomato onion jam, extra sharp cheddar, applewood smoked bacon and arugula. I totally didn't go through their menu just to remember what was on it lol
• Ramen. I. Love. Ramen. Something about it is just... aaaah! The kind I'm used to is instant ramen, if I had a brand reccomendation is Mi Goreng or Nongshim's Tonkatsu. Closest thing I had to authentic ramen is form a local restaraunt where you could customize it and man it was good!
• Mexican food is also something I deeply appreciate Mexican food so much. There's just this balance to it that's a mix of savory and spicy that's just... 👌. I think my favourites have to be tacos from a taco truck, it just... tastes better than something from Taco Bell. Tamales are also a banger too.

Those comfort foods sound lovely!

My comfort foods list is:

• Shakshouka - This is one of my favorite comfort meals - warm, spiced, delicious and filling. I know this is traditionally thought of as a breakfast dish, but I have this at any time of day!
• Bhuna Murgh - I love the warm spicy comfort of a Bhuna Murgh on a cold day (or a warm day!)
• Mushroom & pineapple pizza - Love pizza in general, but this is a comfort for me because cheese and pineapple is big win.
• Duck & Pineapple Rice - The sweetness of the pineapple with the umami flavor of the duck is just *chefs kiss*
• Ramen - Bit of an obvious choice for a comfort food, but traditional ramen soup eaten at a ramen-stand whilst it's raining and the city lights are luminating the darkness of the night just can't be beaten...
• and finally, the dumbest comfort food.... a McPlant meal from McDonalds - I dunno what it is about this absolute junk food treat but I love it so much. I am very particular about what animals I eat, and cows are not on the eat list so I don't like regular beef burgers... but this has to be one of the best plant based burgers I've ever had. :D

Firstly, agreed! Food isnt just important for the nutrients, we bond and connect over it, just like with this response 

Favourite actual dishes:

• Gyudon
• Schnitzel/chicken parmesan
• Mwamba de galinha (chicken cooked in a peanut butter sauce)
• Any form of rice dish really

However comforts... :

• Toast with butter AND jam (strawberry)
• Bagels.
• Melona ice cream bars
• Rice with tuna 'n mayo

And slathering honey on just about anything makes it a comfort for me also :P
