RPG Game Jam

I somehow haven't replied to this thread despite keeping tabs on it lol.

All the ideas I've seen thrown here are pretty great, a bit iffy on the Discord server idea, however. My take on that is this: I won't join the server if one is made. I also think that the jam should be limited to traditional JRPG games since I feel it's unfair to compare something like that to an action RPG if one were made for the jam.

The date y'all picked is perfect!!! Hopefully I'll be able to join in on the fun and get a lil something made in the time frame. I hope this jam goes as planned!!!

This game jam looks so cool! I'll definitely be joining. :-D And the multiple month timespan gives people plenty of time to learn the basics of RPGmaker, too. I am so very excited for this, and to see everyone's games!!!

I am very interested in this and hope to hear more.

I have made hundreds of little RPGMaker projects in my time and mostly just give my friends advice on how to actually use the program so maybe this will be good to actually get something out the door.

Would TRPGs be allowed? (Tactical RPGs, kind of like Final Fantasy Tactics or Fire Emblem?)

Bumping this thread now that the game jam has officially started! Looks like the itch jam page has been updated with the final theme selections:

THEME: BEFORE THE SUN SETS

Additional themes you can incorporate but don't have to:

1. Harvest
2. Blood
3. Festival
4. Strings
5. Bark

I'm excited to start incorporating the jam themes into my RPG project! I've got a good idea for Bark (one of the dungeons will be a giant world tree that the player can climb) but the others might take some more thinking. For the Blood bonus theme, maybe one of the recruitable party members could be a vampire? I've got a pretty good idea already for 'Before the Sun Sets' that I'll show off during the first progress update in like a week or two.
