I recently have been reading the invader zim comic book. Before that I was reading the Sonic the hedgehog comic. Start at issue 160 to skip the blunder phase.

Both of these comic books were way, WAAAAY better than I thought they would be. That raises the question, what books or comic books have you read which surprised you?

Piranesi by Susanna Clarke was a bit boring, bordering on confusing at the beginning. Once it picks up midway, it becomes a really good mystery book. The ending is also quite beautiful.

Pride and Prejudice was something I read to finally have my sister stop yapping about it. I didn't want to like it, but I had to admit by the end that the book is as good as people said it was. Guess the magic didn't come through for me while watching the movie, which I have watched twice but remember absolutely nothing of.

thanks for the link :mark: i can't wait to read the zim one :) I'm really excited to get back into comics and reading and stuff and the invader zim comic is a good place for me to start. fits into my scene/emo subculture interest  :4u: i haven't sat down and read the whole thing but i've liked what i've read of the danny phantom comic book that came out. but i'm a huge vlad fan lol so obviously i would be  :ziped:

i'm currently reading the interpretation of shadows but its still coming out.

i was recently pleasantly surprised by VAS: an opera in flatland, which initially i had to put down because it came off as having too much "divorce energy", as the kids say. but i continued reading it anyway and it turns out that was actually a flavor in a complex stew of critiques about modern (1999) us american anxieties about body autonomy and then-recent innovations in genetics and medical science. once i started approaching it with a little more context and openness i suddenly understood why people called it groundbreaking.

I recently have been reading the invader zim comic book.

oghhh invader zim... i know him. i used to tune into jhonen vasquez's twitch streams a lot while these were still coming out they were fun. he'd do basically a drawpile with all the people that worked on the show or comics. one time they had the binding of isaac guy as a guest
