favorite tropes in general?

I don't know if this trope has a name but I am very fond of the comedies that have an 'everything that can go wrong WILL go wrong' thing going on. La Casa de las Flores S1 is a really good example of this. Just the utter fucking chaos of disastrous events succeeding one another so fast that nobody can keep track... I love that.

• Campy queer-coded villains
• Villains that actually have quite reasonable takes that the media lets you be sympathetic to
• Anti-tropes in horror where the characters are actually reasonably smart, make it out alive, and they don't sacrifice some sort of token minority. The only horror I really care to watch is Jordan Peele's for that reason. Too frustrating a genre otherwise.

A little weird, but I've always adored characters who are absolutely hellbent on achieving their goals. I find myself greatly preferring characters who are absolutely deranged and obsessive about said goals, whether that be obtaining an object, fulfilling a desire, 'having' a person (I'm an absolute sucker for 'yanderes'), etc.
I love stories about hope and resilience, too! Think Undertale's pacifist route. Maybe that's why I've always preferred it to Deltarune, despite how it looks like a prototype compared to the latter.

ahem anyway...

my favorite tropes are the ones that reject the negative perceptions of the dark (and related entities) and portray them in a positive light instead. such as "dark is not evil", "don't fear the reaper", "bad powers, good people", "friendly ghost", "friendly neighborhood vampire", "noble wolf", etc. because yeah; death, darkness, the night, magic, wolves, owls, crows, cats, and mythical monsters have been written in such a negative light for centuries, that it's refreshing when they aren't. see batman, monsters inc, loving reaper, okami, call of the night, and the owl house for some examples of this

Late to the party...but I especially love these! (I say, as someone who made a mostly-friendly god of death character for her oc universe.)
Now, I have no idea what to call this trope...but I've always been a fan of two versions of essentially the same thing. That being:

• Mythical creatures living alongside humanity
• Mythical creatures disguising themselves TO live alongside humanity

What can I say? I just like fantasy being blended with a more realistic setting -_-'''

I'm a sucker for found family, probably because I built myself an irl found family. It has always been a very comforting story trope.

My other favorite are gods/all-powerful beings who act more like people rather than deities, and immortal characters who struggle with their immortality.
