anything that you are (un)expectedly good or bad at. please, don't be shy about your strong sides  :4u:

my example:

unexpected strength (?): building responsive and lightweight pages is easier for me... because i use my phone and mobile connection too. kind of cheating, don't you think?  :ok:
but seriously, i guess i wasn't even debating if i should make certain page mobile friendly or not: there's no other option, lol. if something isn't responsive, then it means i didn't work on it hard enough or don't use this page often :D

unexpected weakness: webdesign color schemes?! as an artist, i don't have any problems with colors when i draw. well, at least i think so. but WEB DESIGN UI?! I CAN'T!!! and because of this i use colors from free templates and/or use randoma11y to generate them. and even so... sometimes i see others' website colors and just... "HOW ARE YOU DOING THAT?"  :ohdear:

as an artist, i don't have any problems with colors when i draw. well, at least i think so. but WEB DESIGN UI?!

I have the opposite problem. I can't figure out colors for art but for a website I can. Proof: https://everyone.melonland.net/nobo

The trick to picking colors is realizing that it's a science. One color complements another color.

As for my strengths and weaknesses...

Strength: I can program basically anything I want to, so that opens a lot of possibilities. I understand servers so I can run whatever I want very cheaply.

Weaknesses: While I'm pretty decent with colors as mentioned above, I'm not good at design and layouts. It's more than not being good at it. I'm not super interested in it either so it's not the part of web dev that I'm interested in. For the most part I'm generally hacking something I consider to be a good starting point for a layout into something I like with colors I like and stuff I like.

So this may or may not be your issue, but a HUGE factor here is having a high quality screen to work on so you can actually see and understand how colours relate to each other! I can almost always identify a ThinkPad webcrafter (which typically have quite bad screens) from a MacBook webcrafter (which typically have very good screens), purely based on their ability to master complex colour use on a webpage. I wrote a whole thread about it here! :dog:

Strength: Making things visually cohesive and fitting things together! I'm reaaally good at taking huge blocks of visual content and making it feel like they were made to fit together even when they are decades apart and in totally different styles!
Weakness: Organising information in a logical way :drat: Im the polar opposite of my strengths when it comes to information, I struggle a lot at making information clear and consistent!

unexpected strength (?): building responsive and lightweight pages is easier for me... because i use my phone and mobile connection too.

This is my weakness. I SUCK at responsiveness, media queries, etc. :dive:
I fall in love with the way I originally laid out the page and hate moving everything around.
I'm also less than stellar at colour coordination. When I make a new page and I've already decided against black&white, I go looking for colour palettes. However, I've often found that nice-looking palettes don't always translate into complimentary website colours. It's tricky!

My strength is in organizing HTML elements into functional layouts. I looooove nesting divs and using flexbox.

Oooh this is a fun idea for a topic!! :cheesy:

As for my strengths, I'd say that I learn veeery quickly. I learned all the fundamentals by just poking around other people's pages with the inspect tool. It might be because I have a lot of coding experience under my belt (although HTML/CSS are not actual programming languages), but I didn't struggle at all with getting into webdev.
I'm good at making mobile responsive layouts, and almost all the pages of my site are mobile responsive :cheesy:  .
And because I'm disabled myself, I think I'm pretty good at making pages that are user-friendly, accessible, and easy to navigate.

My weaknesses... First of all: color pallettes!! I just struggle a lot with picking colors, especially since I try to be mindful of contrast for readability :ohdear: and the fact that none of my monitors are that good also doesn't help. Getting to my current color scheme was a lot of trial and error!
I also struggle a lot with semantics.. some things are very confusing to me, like the difference between the "section" and "article" tags.. I also never know where exactly to place the "main" tag!! :ohdear:
I'm also really indecisive! There is so many cool themes one could use for a site.. I find it hard to commit to just one! The way I solved this is by having certain pages of my site have their own little theme. The main site has a fantasy, slightly spooky theme with ghosts, my blog is themed after the videogame Earthbound, my art gallery is themed after traditioonal drawing supplies, etc! This way I kinda turned a weakness into a strength I think! I love that every corner of my site is its own little thing! :cheesy:

I feel like my strength would be like putting together /small/ stuff, but I am miserably bad at making something cohesive or putting stuff together to look good all together

My strenght: organization! I love tidy layouts, orderly menus, button walls organized by categories and paragraphs separated by cute horizontal lines. My web designing is inspired by my planning/bullet journaling so finding everything a reader needs at one glanc eand understanding content is my first concern. Also, I consider being verbose a strenght! I love writing big blog posts and researching in detail about the argument I wanna blab about.

My weakness: I think my obsession with making things tidy also chips my wings when I want to try something more eccentric or fun for a change. My go to idea of decorating is putting some images here and there when in web art there's so much else one can do... but to do it I'd lose my precious structure and I'm forever torn!

My Strength: I have an easy time wrapping my head around Programmatic implementations of things. Making of the Website itself. Easy Peasy for me.

But My Weakness is Design, I am never happy with my Page, that's why it always changes. Colour Pallet, what is that. Art at all is the End of me. I can't draw for the Life of me. I have been trying and defiantly got better at things, but Design is defiantly not my Strong suite.
